does it make much difference?

In truth, not that I have noticed.

It's working on mine.

I gather it's just the fog light function that is working and not the main headlights moving?

Yes. I've also seen pictures of the OEM cornering foglights on the RO forum and they are different, the bulb is no longer capped in the silver metal shield, and I also think (the picture is not exactly clear) there's a second bulb for the cornering function. The reflector is also shaped differently, projecting the beam sideways more.

To clarify, the octy headlights won't swivel like the roomsters, no?? That's the only bit i'm interested in really.

No, they won't. They are fixed. Hopefully there will be swiveling lights with the facelift, and/or DRLs.

I don't see any different fog lights listed in the parts catalogue.

I wonder if they for the facelift car?

They mentioned it's from a car that's already on the road, so I guess not. Can't one already order the cornering fog lights on a new car? Maybe the parts DB just didn't update yet.

i can confirm the option isnt there on mine with my vag com, mine was delivered to dealer may 07.

Hi,

I am interested in doing this as I have a Sep 2008 Octavia Estate, L & K.

Do I just download VAG COM from Ross-Tech: Home and then buy a cable off ebay? If so which cable, I only have USB and no COM and there are so many different cables available.

Thanks

You need a genuine cable from either Ross-Tech or one of their authorised agents.

eBay cheapo's won't work on your L&K.
