my first go at a proper "detail"

Featured Replies

Ok, so not a full "detail" because I left out loads of stuff, but it was my first attempt at claying and polishing with decent stuff...

Don't really have any "before" pics although it was pretty cruddy with tree sap and road tar polished into the paintwork on the roof, bonnet and door sides (so everywhere really)

Washed, using two buckets!!

clayed the entire car

autoglym super resin polish

farecla black top glaze (I still can't work this bl**dy stuff)

2 applications of turtle wax gloss protection sealant

here are a few pics taken by my 12 year old daughter (who takes better pics than me!)

Nice looking finish you got there mate, plenty depth and gloss on that. SRP is a good product for a multitude of sins

Nice finish:thumbup: I like Autoglym products.

I want a black car again. :(

Hmm I've seen you around a few times, didn't know it was you until I just saw your reg.

Looks pretty shiny :)

Next weekend, give it a clean and then apply a layer or two of colli 476s or 915. Will look very nice then :D

To be fair if you want you can try a bit on a panel (wing etc) if you want as i have plenty here.

and thats why black magic paintwork is so great. The sense of accomplishement when you get to make it shine like that.

Well done. I bet your aching a bit now though

yes black magic is excellent when clean and when you photograph it, but an *** when dirty and trying to keep it clean.

Nice job. You've to to maintain the shine to that standard for ever now...............:D

Nice work, its like a mirror.lol

Ive just had mine diamond brighted and its mega shinny at the moment.hope it lasts.

Good work, can I drop mine of for a day, and a few tins of alcohol....lol

I fully detailed mine (a whole weekend) when i got it in April and thanks to two coats of Collinite 476 wax it still beads beautifully. Makes washing it in the future so much easier too.

Not that far. We're planning a trip to France and Germany next year, and are having a days rest once we get to the coast (ish) before we cross the channel. :D

Looks good
