As said it was pulled back to make the car drivable on track (he only runs 15" wheels) It made 500+ bhp but we thought it might be a little bit too much :) so michael made it less power but a perfectly flat power band! :)

It made 469bhp on a MK1 we did recently though  that was a 1.9 and it was mapped to a safe, drivable limit as the car only ever gets used for track days and is front wheel drive

Was that on a mk1 Octavia?

Rods and pistons have turned up, I have one word for them..........

SEXUAL:eek::eek::eek:

Pics will follow, I'll be honest I was getting a twinge when I opened the box though.....:D:D

I pick my AGU large port head up saturday, then it's off to be ported and flowed and fitted with oversize valves etc. Next it's getting the block sorted and the new bottom end fitted, snow kit (sat in my workshop...) then the big f*ck off Owens beast bolted up...

Will keep you posted.

Steve:)

**UPDATE**

Now I have the new large port head I'm sorting the valves out, i'm going for Supertech jobbies with the single groove tips rather than the normal tripple. Single grooved stems and collets should allow it to rev happily to around 9k without any problems:eek:

I'm also going 1mm larger on both inlet and exhaust valves, might as well go the whole hog aye!!

I'm tempted to get another bottom end, that way I can get the engine completely done without taking mine off the road, it'll be a straight swap then..... decisions decisions....

Pics to follow....

Steve:)

Good on yer mate respect:thumbup:

Steve

9k!!! fecking hell standard redline is only around 7k!

looking forward to more pics!!!

where you at the RR day in MK a few months back? with the guy who had just bought the black octavia?

I'm tempted to get another bottom end

In for a penny, in for a pound..

Looks like $hite at the moment.... just wait though!!

Have a read of Bills last post on here, prooves once again that the quickest cars on the road dont have the most bhp. Its not the figure, its how its delivered that counts.

Good luck with the build.

I will continue to enjoy my lumbering old Twin Turbo ;);)

Also look at the RS6, prices have fallen through the floor

Friends recently purchased a black RS6 with a touch of MTM treatment :) for a bargin price.

I heard of one going for 11K

not to be a downer but cheap RS6's can becme major money pits, i know someone who has bought one about 9 months ago and has had it on the road for about 3 due to all the warranty work had to be done! nearly 30k iirc on warranty work so far! but he loves it when its working, but hes waiting for his delivery of a nissan GTR!
