That is hideous. From the Front grille with the enormously visible bonnet shut lines cutting through the bumper, to the "couldn't-be-bothered" rump via the "let's-save-Javaman-the-work-and-put-the-massive-key-line/gouge-down-the-side-and-make-it-a-design-feature" side profile........

I want to puke long and hard. No, longer and harder than that........

Although the chap with the old generation seven has my respect, ditto old five series. anyone who buys a three or the new beemers really does need to specify the "brain container in lieu or glovebox" option........

Think it looks alright, but nothing special. They could do with stop putting those awful creases down the sides though, and also stop making them look like they're trying to squeeze too much car into too little metal. Not a fan of the bloated look...

I like the 5series, I almost like the 7, I *really* like the 6..... but that stirrs no emotion.[/quote']i agree almost completely. imo though, the 6 cabriolet suffers from the same 'weird bum syndrome' of the 7 - doesn't look horrific but just doesn't look right. 5 series is great on the outside in darker colours but it's sad to say i would never countenance owning one. the reason is that the interior of the 5(and to varying degrees of the x3-yeuch!-z4, and new6) is really unbelievably bad in both design and execution. huge swathes of cheap looking and feeling black plastic, no solidity to controls - the list goes on and on. it just does not stand up to even the most charitable comparisons with the outgoing 5. cheap and nasty.

as far as interiors go, bmw have well and truly lost the plot.

Forgive the fiddling.. but can't help but think the roof is too "bulky" and bubbled, whereas a BMW should show strength beneath the wasteline, I think there is promise in this design as a coupe...
