Marmite!!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im pretty new around here and fancied doing something a little different with my wheels, most people will probably hate it, and i'm more than likely going to get a slating than positive comments.... but i don't care!!!!

I brought a 53 plate VRS in July, standard apart from a remap :)

My intention is to run 5 spoke tt comps highly polished in the summer (no salt on roads to corrode the sh*te out if them!) and the standard wheels in the winter, sitting on coilovers!

So the car as i brought it and after a quick clean

Then came the already battered comps and some pressed plates

Then i ordered a set of jamex collies off the bay and threw some time, sanding etc and some paint at the standard wheels, the result being

As i said before, i like to be a little different!

Comments welcome!

Cheers, Ross

Make 'em pink and i'd come steal them! The green is nicely in keeping with the VRS.

Givin me thoughts now :D - like mine too much tho

Shocking! Although with some tyre dressing on it might look alright...

Hi all,

Where did you BRING it to?!!

OMG! They are awesome! Shame i have been talked out of pink on Lissy now - going for subtle bits of Cadburys purple (drums, arch liners, grill surround) instead.

slating was expected!!!

i like marmite!!

get your calipers and mabey door handles done the same colour and it be awesome.

Honestly ?

You just lost £1,000 resale value.

Some things you can pull off and others you just cannot.

+10 for trying

Edit, Liked the Comps:)

Random question perhaps, but does that green glow in the dark? That'd be pretty nifty

Your welcome, swmbo actually wanted some for her Yaris, but had to settle for getting pregnant instead....:rofl: (by me obviously)

Harsh! You go get her those wheels NOW mister! Baby needs nice wheels to cruise around to his/her friends for play dates.

I reckon if you reversed the colour scheme, in other words - recessed bits black, flat areas green, they would be the dogs!

...............but then I did go to a Level 42 gig the other day, so my opinion may not count for much I guess.

comps are the summer wheels, i wanted to do something a little different that was cheap and i dont mind getting damaged by the road salt in the winter!

thanks

You BOUGHT it man, not brought it .... were did you take it :)

If it floats your boat that's all that matters, it's not my cup of tea but I must admit I respect the amount of time and effort it has taken to do it. Personally I would have gone with an all black theme as I like black wheels on black cars.

Brave man posting pic's as well, people will be along later to taunt you some more :D

I'd like to do them to mine, except with the black being black and the green being white.

It's a no from me.

I feel quite ill...........................

did you paint the road black too?

Hey Fluff, did you mean "where"???

Put the TT comps back on (after a refurb obviously) and throw the green ones in the bin, please!

NO! NO! NO! Give the green ones to ME!! I Think they are the dogs danglies!! That's what winter wheels are about, wait till you see my 15's!!

10 Points for each wheel!

10 out of 10 for effort

0 out of 10 for taste
