Another new member

Well have just got a Fabia 1.9TDi in silver very impressed pulls realy good which i need having just downsized from a 2.0T Laguna  .

So what are the most cost effect ways to add a bit more grunt, air filters chips or anything else but this will be on a tight budget.

Hello

Welcome - can't help with tuning options but I'm sure you won't have to wait too long for more helpful replies !

:wavey: Hello aswell. Hope you enjoy your furbie as much as I do mine!

Welcome to Briskoda. Ask Jason (Devonutopia) about tuning on the TDi 1.9 as his is now pushing out around 150bhp. All from a Jabba re-map and a Green Filter if memory serves me correct.

Welcome to Briskoda, TDeye, and that's a very apposite username.

Yep - derestricted exhaust and Jabba remap = 154BHP... well, only when the car is running right!

Oi - I didn't think mods were allowed such mis-quoting rights!

damn... beat me to it!! :D

Welcome TDeye :)

Welcome!

I've not done any engine mods aside from the air filter as yet as I think making the car handle is far more important ;) I wanted to get rid of the bouncy ride and the body roll, so opted for the Eibach springs and dampers (on Jason's recommendation ;)) and the car is now much faster and more planted on the road. Unfortunately, now it goes round corners it could do with a bit more power

Scoobychris, which filter did you choose and do you think it's worth it

I went for the Green Cotton Panel filter - believe there's a group buy for them going on now ;) Performance-wise I don't think there's a big difference, although the car does sound a bit more throaty (for a diesel ;)) and I think it pulls a bit better low-down, but then the paper filter on mine was long overdue a change anyway. Main reason I got it, is cos I had one on the Scooby and it can be cleaned so it should be more cost effective than the paper items..... :D
