I have a fun truck shes been with me for almost 12 months now and i love her. However the worst thing ever happened on Sunday, a naughty man in a evil pug crashed into the back of us. So now i am distraught as her back end is all smashed in. PLEASE could anybody help me find her some parts as everyone i talk to says she will be destroyed as shes over 10 years old. Im sooooooooo worrid i will lose her to the crusher any help/info on a rear bumper and tailgate would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

A very poorly fun truck and sad:orb_sad: owner

Just scrap it and buy a newer car :)

:nono: Not a very nice reply to a newcomer... and a Fun deserves better!

Sadly I have no help to offer, but hopefully someone else will hear your desperate cry.

Felicia funs are great cars, and always command a strong premium of around £1000 to £1500 over and above a standard felicia pick up. Although I would say £4k for this one Skoda Felicia Fun 1.6 Ltd Edition on eBay, also, Skoda, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Nov-08 12:41:53 GMT) is a bit optimistic. If it gets to that in dealings with insurance make sure they offer an adequate amount considering the *real* market value of the truck - don't let them fob you off. You will no doubt find there is a market for spare bits if you decide not to repair it - or another option could be to buy another felicia fun and strip this one of all usable parts.

Try asking Jorily, contact details at Skoda Parts - Jorily. The Skoda Parts Shop - Probably the UKs largest independent skoda parts supplier to see if he can get hold of a bumper/tailgate for you. I would want to be 100% certain that the bumper and tailgate is all that's wrong though before going to the effort of buying the parts.

Hopefully Rigsby will be along, he knows more about the fun :)

:confused:Bit surprised at vRSLen's reply?????

:) You could go to the Skoda Owners Club site by using the link in my sig and contact Oz, he's a great fan of the Fun and can most likely help out.

Im sorry to hear of your accident. As the others have said the Fun is worth a lot more than other models - therefore it shouldn't be simply written off. You should be able to source parts from Czech - contact Jorily as newman said.

What about sourcing VW Caddy parts and getting them sprayed "Fun Yellow"

As the Caddy and Felicia pickup look almost identical

Ive got a fun, and to be honest, you will be lucky to get a tailgate, let alone a rear bumper second hand. Although they do come up now and then on ebay, but always command a good price. The tailgate is the same on all pickups and on the vw caddy. You would have to swop over the spoiler though, and the bumper just covers the normal bumpers, so you could just paint them yellow until a fun one turns up. If you are going through the other blokes insurance, you mite be lucky, IIRC new ones are still available

There is no "cars over a certain age will be scrapped" rule. That's that out of the way.

Unfortunately, whether it's still the right thing to do or not will depend on the damage, and particularly I suspect whether or not the frame is bent, and you need a good bodyshop to advise on that.

Skospares have got a pickup in for breaking now...........

Get a structural report and take it from there. It may be possible to rebuild it but

it could take time and money, but there again, nothing is impossible.

I just think it could be more trouble than its worth to be honest....

Only went for £15, I wish i lived a bit nearer, would have payed a lot more than that

Just scrap it and buy a newer car :)

you suck.:thumbdwn:

and now for my constructive post...

if it wasn't your fault... guess what?! you have the right, and they'll argue, but you HAVE the right to have your vehicle repaired to the standard it was before it was hit. This means if someone writes off your perfect 4000 mile E-type, they cant just offer you average money for a 40k unrestored car. They can be forced to source one like yours or pay the equivalent for whatever they go for, or fix yours to that standard. They aren't allowed to give a "final offer" as such - it is only over when you say "I accept". So basically, make the other drivers insurance pay whatever it costs to fix. ANd new panels and bumpers are available through Skoda UK iirc.

good luck :)
