A New MKV R32 for Under

Featured Replies

That's a whole lot of motor for your dollar -

My mate just rang me who is Master Tech at VW Dealer. Sinclairs in Swansea.

He told me that they have just been told that there are 700+ unregistered R32's in the UK. They are basically putting this model into liquidation as they can't shift them.

So they will take over 25% off the normal price.

2 doors for £16875

4 doors for £17250.

Obviously all different specs but they will possibly sell ones with good specs for above prices and would be open to offers I am sure.

What a lot of car for this money!!!

I have had my R32 for over 4 years now with only 28,000 miles.

I was looking to sell for a new Scirocco in white/ truffle leather, but at those prices I may consider a newer R32.

The Sinclairs Group in South Wales are being allocated 19 R32's at these prices.

Some amazing bargains could be had here for the price of a new Golf Match.

Oh boy are some of those owners beginning to squirm!!!

I like the posts along the lines of 'you shouldn't have posted that up' as if it was going to stay some sort of secret forever and the cars would just sit in a compound somewhere until sombody paid near list for a 2 year old car!!!

That is just soooo tempting but I don't really want to spend that sort of money on a car, bargain or not (plus the Missus would lynch me). But you know what happens when temptation is put in front of you......

That's so cheap it's sick.

Sounds like it was a very short term offer though?

This is going to **** some people off for sure.

Interesting stuff indeed, but I'm not that surprised. Especially with the current financial situation, the looming car tax hike and the fuel consumption on something like that.

Absolutely perfect if you do fairly low miles though and could stomach the stupid tax! I'd love one - there's a Milltek equipped one locally

Steve

What MPG do these get and what insurance group are they.

Is the R32 a FWD or a AWD model, sorry to be thick, but i've never actually considered one until I just saw the prices

R32 is a V6 4wd. :) mpg I guess is around 30mpg at best on a long gentle cruise, and insurance? I would imagine 18 but I don't know.

30mpg if your extremely lucky.

3.2 narrow angle V6, four wheel drive and around 250ish bhp.

Wonder what kinda deal you can get on an R36, hmmmm.

Mark you would have a heart attack when you saw the MPG mate , definately not a car for you. As Jason says it's a 3.2l V6 - Awesome engine.

Anyway that's old news, how about two for the price of one??

Yep , I saw those at 50% off at some brokers.

Not the best vehicle on the market , but for the money it would be hard not to consider one if you need a car of that size

I think this is probably in part due to the economic climate particularly as this car is going to be stung by Darling's massive VED increases next year. Most cars in the top tax band are suffering even if they are relatively cheap. I think there is something in people's psyche that says I am not going to pay £400 a year. With the way the government are borrowing this figure will probably double or more in the next few years. My brother in law has an pristine Impreza WRX 53 reg 27,000 miles and had absolutely not interest despite putting up for 7K

I've just sold a 57 plate Octavia vRS not not a huge amount more than that, it's just a sign of the market.

The market is fecked, no two ways about it. Even things like my 328, the Mk2 MR2 etc were over £2k just 3 months ago, now plenty are available at half that. :(

Oh dear god, that top one would be just lovely for me. *sigh*.

I am suprised to see this sort of stunt from VW. I'd have thought there were less damaging ways to shift stock than to knock it out at these prices. 0% APR, free servicing deals etc would have helped surely??

There will be almost every VW dealer in the country with a used R32 or two stuffed right up their @r5e and struggling to shift them, the thought of being able to buy one for that sort of money puts the used ones well and truly out in the cold.

Yup, they will have royally shafted lots of previously very loyal customers I'm sure.

Oh, and just for comedy value, I've learned first hand that these are not quite as quick as a mildly fettled 328i

Assuming of course you can get the power down :P

I went to a track day some years ago at Castle Coombe, there was some quite reasonable exotica there as well as an old boy in a Golf V5 4Motion, the track was a little damp and there wasn't much that could trouble him.
