No rear leccy windows on vRS?

Featured Replies

Can you get rear electrics as an option?

Which one? If you mean the Fabia then I think its an option.

Yeah Fabia VRS, sorry, was quite surprised to see that it wasn't electric all-round, maybe I've been conditioned from driving ten-year old scoob. Also, what improvement is there with xenon bulbs, apart from totally blinding oncoming drivers (always get spots in front of my eyes for about five minutes after)? I take it they project further into the distance? Sorry for crappy questions, bored at work, need to go and test drive a vRS or something.

As far as I know, rear leccy windows aren't an option on the Fabia.

Xenon headlights are sooooooo much better than halogen bulbs. They will have autolevelling to keep things right, but if you get blinded by them just look to the left side of the road!

Not looking where your going when driving doesnt strike me as being a very good idea, somehow ;)

Which side of the road do you drive on?

Might just get a pair of those cool aviator style night vision specs, you know the really 80's style ones with the big amber lenses. Rockin!

Yep rear leccy windows aren't available on any Fabia any more. My Fabia scraped in and just managed to get them, I was on the last build week of them as standard on the elegance! ;)

but you could retro fit them with genuine bits id say

It's probably possible but not easy I would imagine

It states in the Highway Code if you are blinded by on-coming traffic look to the near side of the road.:P

lol wouldnt have thought that hard as all wiring would be there id imagine

Retro fit of 'lecky windows is possible on just about anything. Look up in yellow pages or whatever you have over there in N.I.

Car electricians section. Won't be mega bucks.

Always take a trip over here to merseyside, and I'll point you in the direction of my mate who fitted lekies to my van a couple of years ago

Have to get the car first!

Ask at the dealer, it does not hurt. Aparrently they come as standard on the French version.

To retro fit electric windows to a Fabia I would imagine you would need,

1. Conveinance Control unit

2. 2x Electric window motors/door control units

3. 2x Window regulators

4. Window switches for drivers door and both rear door panels

5. Wiring which may or may not include can-bus (im pretty sure Fabia's run on it)

I reckon you would be looking at around a grand at least in parts.
