remapped(chiped)

Does anyone have problems after his car was remapped or chipped?

Yeah loads of people have blown their cars up don't do it.

Err actually I'm lying, I'm sure loads of people will be along too tell you the pros and cons of mapping a fabia (there are a few)

*PC MODE* Are women not allowed to remap? :D

In a nut shell Remapping is brilliant for several reasons but the main one I like is when a BMW pulls up alongside you on the motorway and you just wave bye bye ;)

On a serious note...

1) Get it done by a specialist (Theres lots of cowboys out there)

2) I would say your far better off getting a Custom map as apposed to a generic one as the garage where you have it done will test your car 1st on a custom remap to see how everything is performing eg the standard clutch, turbo etc.

3) Obviously your insurance will rise so find out first how much (DO DECLARE IT) as it is becoming common in these Fabias and insurance companies will check the cars ecu first if its been in a bad accident.

The rest of the modding starts here :D £3500 so far Ive spent but Im going full on for a Shifty though ;) so only another £4000 to go hehe :D

Only after they have cooked me breakfast :D haha

no problems with mine at all :D

Awsome gti remap ;)

More speeding tickets, more frequent tyre changes, more diesel used (many say that economy goes up slightly after a remap, which is true but, because you have the extra power you will use it and therefore, more juice), possibly more likely to crash, faster wear on components (clutch, turbo). :)

Edit: More power and more :D though!!!

Thats a pretty damm good price I must admit although Ive never used or heard anything about you guys and only go from recommendations so will keep my ears peeled about you guys for future reference.

Any prices for a stage 2 Hybrid turbo and FMIC & remap as I will be looking at this for around spring time ?????

Hi!

I know, we have not been advertising on the Briskoda forum for too long, but we do alot of VAG tuning.

Check out the seatcupra forum! You can read some reviews on there under our forum section here:

Yes, Hybrid custom tuning is no problem. We are dealers/partners of Backdraft motorports (big turbo specialists) and are currently putting some diesel upgrade kits together.

Are these generic maps then?

Hi

Yes, all stage 1 maps are generic, although we can offer custom mapping if you have uprated your clutch/turbo etc etc

However, if on the test drive or dyno there is something the customer wants changing, then of course we will do it. This has never been the case yet though, as all stage 1 maps from us are heavily tested and proven

im sure you get this question all the time, but how likely is the standard clutch going to slip/need uprating? in standard form, mine is running 141bhp and 260ft/lbs

Do it, Do it, Do it, you wont regret it. I had my Octi Mk1 vRS remaped about 5 years ago and have had no problems at all (Not counting the 3 points on my licence of course :( ) I must agree with littlebull though, go for a reputable company, you may pay a bit more but its worth it in the llong run.:thumbup:

And if you remap it is the car then roufer(brutal)?

i cant find the word i am looking for.

I see that the cars in England after remap has 175-170hp,

In belgium they go to 160-165hp does anyone know how come?

I got a stage 1 generic Revo remap (supposedly 180bhp) with a switcher so I can revert it back to its stock 130bhp via the diagnostics port. I've never turned the map off though so I wouldnt consider this a factor when deciding which one to get. Only downside which quickly turns into a positive is I had to replace the clutch a week later as it was slipping with all the extra torque, then as Littlebull has said you just keep on going, suspension, ARBs, brakes, tyres the lot. Expensive but I will reach that magical 200bhp one day! :)

No problems since getting re-mapped in February by Star Performance (see bottom for Spec).

Custom code phase 1 on mine, on the rollers the standard bhp was 160 yes 160, after remap 180.7 bhp, graph to prove.

get it on a proper set of rollers, never seen a kkk turbo equipped car hit these figures on either awesomes or rs tunings rr,and some of these cars had the full deal uprated clutch, fmic the general consensus is the 180bhp re map is a myth,no one has managed to prove the figures on a dyno dynamics rr,thy allways fall well short.

145 on stock is possible, any higher figures and then it is mapped or tuning box.

My rr printout from awsome is saying 180.61 bhp

cool so thats one i havn't seen out of probably about 30 rolling roaded fabias:rolleyes:

To be fair, we have had various 130PD customers pulling 180 - 186bhp on various dyno's

Seeing 175 - 185bhp is perfectly normal on a well mapped 130PD

I'm sure I've seen Jabba printouts that were running over 180bhp with just a PD160 intake and a green cotton filter. I had my non-remapped, BLT engined, vRS tested and it said 148bhp. So I just never bothered getting a remap after that. I do believe the later cars had more power than the spec. suggested.

also there must be a difference in the mapped ASZ's and BLT's?

Yeh what he said above! lol
