Hi Jason!

One of the few things I have followed while lurking is the mad stuff you've done with your car over time!

Hello Huck.

Hi Manny! :)

Wow... hello huck..

dont tell me your back and have bought another vRS... old car get dirty?

LOL!

Hi Col, the BM will be with me for a wee while longer. The Panda is the most likely candidate for replacement but I really don't have a clue what to go for. The size, nippiness, handling, quality are all just perfect for my needs at present.

Back again!

Now there's a blast from the past.....hey Huck, hows things.

It is like a school reunion :D

All good, Gaff! :)

Back again!

I keep in touch with Ian regularly and see him pretty often. Colin, well, we talk whenever we want another petrolhead's opinion on a potential purchase.

I've had a fair few cars since the original red Octy RS. After that it went:

- BMW 330d Sport (184hp model, remapped - disappointing)

- Another Octy RS, this time in black - APR remap, Full Miltek and the first grey to black carpet conversion! Great car.

- Merc C32 AMG - stupidly fast, very thirsty and quite soulless.

- BMW X3 2.0d Sport - OKish, I guess. Handled brilliantly, ride awful.

- X3 3.0d M Sport - much better. Slightly better ride, great handling. Brill family car and the missus liked it!

- Seat Altea FR TDi 170 - nice, well built.

- Currently, 335d Msport touring. Phenomenally accomplished car. Love it.

Commuting cars went like:

- Honda Jazz - OK, nothing great.

- VW Polo 1.4 Tdi - remapped. Nothing to say really.

- BMW 328i SE (E36) - smoooooooooooth!

- Skoda Fabia 1.4 Tdi (75hp) - great for the motorway commute I did at the time.

- Fiesta 1.3 (2000MY) - around the time Ford started making great handling runabouts. Great fun.

- Currently, Panda 100HP. Built well, handles brilliantly, comical ride. Looks cool to my eyes, better paint than the BM and loads of standard kit, for pennies, relatively speaking. My daily commute now takes me to the High Peak and it is the perfect car for 'safe, legal(ish) fun' ! ;)

I've had it for nearly 2 years - pushing the longest I've owned any car since about 2001 and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone and can't really think of anything to replace it with.(...although I do quite like the look of the Kia Soul)

Another old face popping in :D:D If you ever get bored with the Panda & beemer combine the two & try the Abarth 500, I just bought one for Wendy & its an absolute cracker, I seem to be driving it ant chance I get  Its incredibly refined as a daily drive & the build quality is exceptional but when the sport & the TTC button get engaged its an incredible drive

I can relate to that - I'm stumped as to what's going to be replacing mine

Chris

When i joined a few years ago i didn't even have a Skoda a Golf PD 130, now i have 1 about 12 months! Having said that the mk2 octy is way ahead of my old mkiv golf.

Hi Stuart!

Have made my mind up - bought a Mito 1.4TB 155 Veloce, today. Picking it up next week, cannot wait!

Will be sad to see the Panda go as it's really brought back the fun of driving - cornering, accelerating etc. like a loon and still staying legal!
