Fabia alarm

Featured Replies

Hi all

Woke up this morning and lo and behold my car has been broken in to stolen a stereo and my sat nav.

Thing is the alarm didnt go off the car was fully locked up and they smashed the O/S/R quarter glass wonund the back window down and they climbed in the thieving pikeys . Just wondering if any body would know why the alarm wouldnt of sounded

Stupid, patronising question, but when you lock it do you press the lock button once or twice?

If you press it twice I believe that that disables the alarm (or interior sensors?)

Sorry to hear that some thieving scumbags have broken into your car.

As for the alarm not going off I'm not sure, the sensors should have triggered when the window was broken.

As Yegnold says, if you press the the key fob lock twice the interior sensors are disabled. I locked the car when going to pay for fuel one day & forgot the missus was in the car, the alarm soon went off when she moved in the car.

One reason I have not bothered with a sat nav is because so many get stolen, even if you hid it in the car thieves look for the tell tail sticker marks on the screen & you never know someone might be watching you pull up and remove the sat nav and put it in the glovebox etc.

yeah if you press it twice it disabled the sensors,

on the plus side they only broke the o/s/r quarter glass, not too much damage, i.e bending door frames

Sorry to hear that mate, I too used to press the button twice until I I was advised to push it once.

The funny thing is through I was told by the salesman to push the button twice.

i always used to press the button twice, just to make sure it was locked. Then got LG to put the "bleep" on by using VAGcom so i now know for sure its locked as it BLEEEEEEPS at me lol
