Is that the actual tight right bend or the shaky left hander before that? I was basically under controlled braking around the left hander trying to get down from 120, and probably took that right hander at between 55 and 60 then up to about 90 before braking for the esses.

Thanks for organising it Jason. Was an excellent day out.

I had a great day out too, nice to meet other Briskodians. On track was excellent My VRS had the the power & the brakes to start & stop but not enough rubber on the track for grip, must look into new wheel/tyre combo. I was circulating at 1.35/1.36 mins. which was the same as my previous Golf mk4 TDI and was hoping for quicker lap times.

I timed some other cars around the track, one off the EVo's was 1min.12 secs. the fastest I timed and a Fiat Cincuecento at 2mins .1sec. the slowest. I can imagine the Cincuecento driver was having as much fun as the EVO driver so it doesn't matter which car you have and how fast it may be.

Sunburn? more like windburn yesterday.

Thanks again to Jason for organising the day.

Thanks from me and my bro to Jason, good on you for organising it:thumbup:

Great day out, weather for the track session was brilliant timing just raining as we pulled in. I was spectating near the karting when the afternoon rain shower came, karting looked hilarious! Not to mention the drifters:eek:

As for speeds round the track.........was anyone listening at the very important drivers breifing session:confused: Its not a race, just a driving experience:D:D

Thanks again:thumbup:

Must say a big thanks to Jason for sorting such a good day out.

Weather held up for a change ;) and it only drizzled a couple of times after we had been on the track.

Nice to see old and new faces.

Definitely come to the conclusion that a set of KW V3's are needed as the FSD/H&R option just don't cut it.

Good to see Des couldn't pass much running all that boost  but if you did get passed by him 'shame on you'.

I won't mention a certain car going off twice at the same spot.

I will try to get the pics sorted tomorrow.

I've seen one pic from Camp corner and another from Quarry - Umm, does that mean one of them was visited again? :)

Good to meet up with a few old faces

Stuart

I have to echo everyone elses somments - what a fantastic day!

Being a regular at Combe I have never seen a day so well attended nor a club stand with as good a turn out as Bristol Skoda.net

And as for the track session - the best (but fastest passing) 15 minutes of my life!! :D

Original plan to take it relatively easy went out the window as soon as I hit that wide piece of empty tarmac (following an instinctive look right at the end of the pit lane to check for on coming traffic )

Apologies for anyone I got in the way of (a Fabia SE nearly ended up in my boot a couple of times when i braked far far too early) and anyone obstructed by my cooling down laps mid session, a couple of hard stops into Quarry cooked the brakes adequately enough for me to have to back right off.

Even though i spent most of the session being overtaken (various Fabias/ silver Octy1/ silver Octy2) and only over took 1 thing (Roomster after its excursion on the grass on the first lap) I still really enjoyed it, as my scrubbed passenger side front tyre will tell!!

Was really good to put a few faces to names and metal to cars, and was gutted to have to leave at lunchtime to go to Thruxton.

Roll on the summer event!!

Good to meet you Cliff - and thanks to you for arranging the convoy from the pub in Brockworth :)

I don't know what happened to you taking it easy but I didn't see you at all! :D

No Worries Ed - was a good convoy oce we had cleared the villages and got past the flowery Corsa

The red mist decended and i was gone! I feel the need to go racing of get myself a track car coming on!!

Sorry i didn't manage to catch up with you afterwards but I hope you and your *cough* 18 year old *cough* brother had a similarly good time.

Glad to be of service

I'll add my thanks to Jason for organising a great day out and to those on track for

tolerating my rolling roadblock (at least consistent according to the two laps Mrs d

caught on video )

And since I didn't wreck the car I even got permission to do it again :D

That may have been me behind you at the time you speak of above but no worries mate there was never a time were it was at all dangerous lol thank god i have the 312mm to stop :P

But it was a good day none the less :)

lol sorry Chris :D i was all on my own well away from everyone causing not trouble to anyone but myself (and my tyres and my brakes and a very confused fuel gauge!)

and then you came along and scared the buhjeezus out of me! :P

still thoroughly enjoyed it though! :)

You do find the fuel gauge thinks you're going to run out of fuel fast, even when you start the session with half a tank. :D It's to do with the "miles to go" as it rapidly drops the more you cane it as it thinks you're going to drive like that for the whole tankful. :)

Looks like I missed a great day and a great turn out and great position in the paddock, how many cars did you have in the end?

Is there a seperate thread showing pics?

indeed i did!! i was quite happily in a clear piece of track of my own making (by easing off not by overtaking ) and you came out of the pits mid session and completely mullered me!!

In addition to my Briskoda only video here:

I have now uploaded another one with 9 minutes of clips from the rest of the day in HD including the drifting:

Some tasty motors there, I think you'll all agree:eek: :)

Let me know what you think?

Cheers,

Joe
