So what's missing from the range?

Featured Replies

As I was driving back up the M5 today I was sat there in the traffic jam idly wondering about what's missing from the Skoda range , and what the chances of it ever seeing the light of day are.

A few that I came up with are as follows

Fabia VRS Estate.

This would sell by the bucket load to people who need a bit more space than the hatch version and wouldn't require much effort to put into production.

New Octy 4*4 TDI.

IIRC there was an old shape equivalent that never made it to the uk.

I'd certainly consider buying one.

Skoda people carrier.

Either a full size one like the Sharan/Alhambra or a smaller one like the Touran.

No reason why not , although we wouldn't get a full sized one until the Sharan is replaced I wouldn't have thought.

Skoda 4*4

Probably not very likely due to sales volumes being miniscule , however the prevalence of low-rent far eastern 4*4s shows that there is a market for a big tank on a budget.

Any other suggestions?

skoda lupo sized car with the 1.4 tdi - reckon it would sell and sell.

It would have to be sufficiently different in price from the Furby 1.4TDI , but it would do very well if it was cheap enough.

Especially as you can't get the Arouser or the Lupo with that engine for under 10k

A dealer told me a while ago that an estate version of the Fabis vRS was going to be produced, but I've not heard anything official about it.

Fabia WRC, Petrol Engine whether it be a 1.8T or one of the new Motors.

Octavia V6 - New Shape. With the 3.2V6 from the TT

1) 4+4 convertible

2) 2 door coupe

3) 5 door Superb ;)

Fabia vRS combi for me please :D

3 door fabia vrs?

Fabia vRS combi for me please :D
and me :agree:

Skoda supercar???

and me :agree:

Lets petition Skoda to make one :D

Mid engined RWD roadster would be nice, with the 180bhp unit

VAG have to make one IMO

If they do I can't see it getting a Skoda badge though

With a different front bumper that would be *very* nice

i think that coupe looks pretty damn good as it is, bring it out and if i could afford it and it went well enough it would replace my 4x4

That, my dear boy is the Skoda Tudor. A Superb based coupe that they never put into production.

Big mistake IMHO.

How about the Tudor with the V10 TDI engine . Now that would torque to you . :)

The VW toerag V10 TDI is unbelievable.

The only question about that car, is how that stop it turning on it's back when you rev it up. HOW much torque?

I was behind a Passat 4X4 Tdi yesterday, and couldn't help thinking that Skoda should produce an Octy with the same engine/transmission package. Keep the price down, and every farmer in the country would buy one, especially if it was an estate, so you could get a dead sheep in the back!

I think it's all about making the best of current models...

Fabia "rallye" - high revving NA 1.6 or similar, no toys just decent wheels \ vrs bumpers...

Octavia TDi 4x4 - obvious but would sell tons.

Superb 4motion, with the *big* A6 engines, 2.7T, 4.2 V8, in L&K only.

About 750Nm (enough to easily tow a combine harvister)

A Fabia WRC edition in white with either the 1.8 150/180 petrol or the 160 TDI from the Ibiza FR would do me fine :D

A Superb vRS to take on the M3/M5 with 4 wheel drive and either the 4.2 W8 engine or the V10 Tdi

I have read that Skoda will be making a Lupo sized car based on the new VW Fox and also that the Roomster will go ahead to take on the Modus and Meriva.

Also could produce a Transit rival as they've got the PD engines and VW already make the shells ;)

Hired a T-reg VW LT35 Hi-Cube for my house move and it was fitted with an SDI lump! Impressed that it would pull away in 3rd/4th gear, but it took a few minutes to get it up to motorway speeds!

Chris

They make one based on the Fabia, but it is not sold here (It is mentioned in the manual)

Hiya Huck,

I think VAG are going to be replacing existing Lupo/Arosa platform 2005/6.

There was talk of there being a Skoda version, so maybe your idea is closer to the mark than you think!

When the pictures of the Tudor came out, I wanted one. They're not going to make it, but interstingly (I think) the new Bentley coupe (Continental?) has a very very similar profile, and was apparently designed by the same guy... The sides between the wheels are practically identical, and it's only really the ends that have changed. Oh, and probably everything on the inside!

Badge engineering or what? ;)
