I think my car blushes?

Featured Replies

I've noticed this 2-3 times now... when my cars dirty and its been raining, when I get where i'm going my boot lid looks like below. Its like those 2 spots are dry, where the rest is damp lol very strange? Someone said it might of been touched up at some point.. would of been a strange object they hit, and I can't understand why it'd be dry in one bit because of that?!?

There something in the boot lid that gives off heat either side? Maybe the number plate lights?

Looks like it may be the numberplate lights.

Mine does the same, might just be to do with air passing over that part.

Or water not hitting that bit when traveling.

Does look like its blushing though. :D

It be be your greasy hands mate when you close the hatch or the lacquer has rubbed off. Needs a good polish a bit more often.

It is the Number plate lights, mine does it too.

lol look at the state of my boot lid, i definitely don't close it there with my hands I always use the handle thing inside... can't speak for the previous owner though.

Car gets washed and polished with auto glym super resin stuff every 2 weeks. I do 40-50 miles a day down coutry roads so its always filthy :D

Never noticed it on my fabia but on my last car a focus it would be on the black surround on the boot where the ford badge was just next to the numberplate lights.

Ok well at least other people have noticed it :)

Maybe the wifes paws then? I know Red paint does go a bit funny in sunlight so I suppose the heat from the lamps can affect it in the same way. I think the only cure for this is repainting the panel.

The paints fine when clean mate :) nice and shiney not a mark. its whiteish because its dirty and its dry, where the rest of the lid is wet and dirty

I was more just trying to figure out why I had 2 dry patches on a wet boot

It disappoints me that the engine in the TDI never gets hot enough to dry the bonnet off :(

maybe you should put a few of the number plate bulbs under the bonnet? seems like that should do it for you

How come the rear lights never seem to get dirty?

That rear end would look soooooo much cooler if the wiper wasn't there.
