Urgent Help - Whiteline ARB owners

Featured Replies

For all you Whiteline Adjustable RARB owners - come on I know there is a few of you ;) as your threads are the reason I have purchased one

I am going to get mine fitted and would like to know what initial setting to put it on.

It is going on my MK 1 VRS - Revo stage 1

I have Super Pro Control ARM bushes, Anti Roll Bar chassis bushes and Dog Bone mount bushes being fitted tomorrow.

So would would be a good starting point for the RARB and is it a good decision to get it fitted at the same time as my Super Pro items being fitted or let these bed in first?

Thanks

I have mine on its hardest setting, but I started with it on the softest and worked my way up. I'll proberbly take it back one notch though as I'm finding it makes the back end a little twitchy on it's current setting.

Got mine on second hardest- seems perfect!

I started on 2nd hardest but after a few months put it to the hardest and its been there ever since. I would start low and work up because the dynamics change significantly especially in the wet when it can catch you out when you lift off :D

Get it all fitted together would be my advice and go and enjoy the new tightness in the steering and chassis

I started min on the second softest but considering moving up a notch to second hardest at some point soon.

I started mine on the softest setting, still a big difference, have it a notch up now, been like that for a while, but like nbr uk i may go to second hardest soon.

Lex Dysia how do you find it on the hardest setting?

Lex Dysia how do you find it on the hardest setting?

Personally I love it. Had it like this for about 10 months now and would never go softer. I think it's personal preference ultimately and I would recommend trying every setting over a decent time period and finding one that suits your taste. Yes it can be twitchy (with standard suspension) but if you work up to it you shouldn't get caught out by unexpected behavior and combined with recent suspension upgrades the car is very controllable whether wet or dry

I have mine on the second hardest with weitec coilovers. it is ace!

LEX did ur go to the hardest easy or did you need to loosen the clamps?

I went straight for the second hardest with std susp and it was fine but took some gettin used to as it grips SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more. I have never had any twitchyness as yet but now I have the WEITECs on I cant see it happening.

wouldnt mind tryin the hardest thou but have heard to get it there you need to loosen the brackets off then change settins then tighten brackets again????

Yes I did slacken the clamps a little to allow some play to get to the hardest setting as it is a little tight but I don't think it's impossible to do it without loosening the U-bolts :o

kk

cheers, Thats the reason i not dun it yet as it will put strain on the brackets and ive heard stories that the whiteline ones are not the strongest.

Where can these be ordered from?

Want one!!!!

balance motor sport is the place I got mine from mate.

Sarah @ AwesomeGTI did me a great deal, I'd recommend them.

Greg.

I also got a Whiteline ARB from Balance Motorsport, it has 4 fixing holes in the arb ends (4 being hardest - 1 softest setting). I Initially set mine up on the 2nd hole in from the end and it seems fine.

With the kit you get 2 small lengths of box section (spacers to link the arb ends via links to the shock mounting brackets).

Make sure that the box section is mounted with sides vertical (when bolted on loose it can rotate 360'). Otherwise if the top /bottom sides are horizontal, under load it will go like a parallelogram (box with sloping sides).

Enjoy !!!!!

Tell me this is it just the bar to order?

Is everything in it ready to fit?
