Dear All

Just recently (two weeks ago) bought a Fabia 1.4 8v 2001 X- my first Skoda! previously had a Toyota Rav 4 2 GLX - already I have had problems with Fabia - steering pulling to left and EPC (power steering light coming on whilst driving but not everyday!) can anyone put my mind at rest that I have bought a reliable car - had no probs at all for 3 years with Rav - two weeks with Skoda having been told it was a excellent car Im panicking - please reassure me!!

They are good cars I still miss my Fabia 1.4 8v :( , did you buy it from a main dealer?

Welcome to Briskoda. Rest assured you have bought a reliable car. My old 1.4 16v had 30k miles of trouble free driving in 2.5 years and the vRS has given me no troubles in nearly a year and 20k miles.

The pulling is more than likely just a wheel alignment issue. The ESP light flashes on if the wheels break traction, so it could be down to spirited driving. :D If it stays on, then a visit to the dealers may be in order, but I'm sure it's nothing serious. ;)

Fab 16v - EPC ;)

pull to the left seems to be a VAG thing sometimes, but can be corrected with a 4 wheel alignment check.

Phew!

Thanks for response - I bought the car from a car dealer forcourt - all above board with 6mnths warranty not a main dealer - so heres hoping EPC problems will be sorted at Skoda Worthing next week!

Thanks

PS how long will it be before I can start Fabia rally driving?

There might be spaces left to go on track at Silverstone on 5/9/04 at the TRAX event. ;) Pm DaveU for further info. :D

Just for you Jonno...

:finger::finger::finger:

I can teach some aspects of rally driving, having done a skid control course (fat lot of good it did me :D) - and can also help clock up some air miles and the ability to get 10/10 for artistic impression whilst airborne! ;)

I know what I meant to ask.

Did anyone get any pictures of your furby while it was still on its roof , or did it continue the roll and land right way up?

Hmmm - good reminder! One bloke took piccies of it str8 after the crash and I got his phone number! Time to give him a bell because he promised me piccies... The actual thing kind of went....

screeeech! graunch, takeoff [silence as flying] BANG! [land end/side], CRUNCH! [land roof] BANG! [hit back end, rear screen blows out] WHALLOP! [land on roof again] GRAUNCH [slide on roof until came to a halt]

OH ****! exclamation from me straight after! :D

Excellent , make sure that they get posted on here.

It'd be nice to see what caused the damage on the other pics I've seen

Well - left a 1571 message... we shall see ;)

I think pretty much all damage was caused by tarmac... Certainly cut out a good section of it, which is what bent one of my 17s.

Hi, Jason. been reading local paper, and apparently they do inversion therepy round here now.

Do you reckon we should book an appointment?

You bring the rabbit, and i'll bring the twin airbags :D .

Not sure that reply deserves a :finger: but you're getting one anyway! No-one else is verted to my knowledge... although a lot of Briskodians have had prangs I'm sure!

Cheers for the :finger: jason.

Makes me feel that everythings ok with you at the mo. :)
