Loose cable underneath driver seat

You did indeed... No prices in this competition though :D

And for once the salesguy hadn't lied to me either, when I switched on the ignition this morning without having my seatbelt attached, a loud "bling bling" noise was emitted... just when I got rid of the "bling bling" gold alloys ;)

Q.

PS. no offence studioman, gold can be nice, just not on my car ;)

The cable is part of the Air Bag system / pre-tensioner system.

It should go connected to the seat belt. It senses if the seat belt is correctly set and in case of a crash it would "help" the Air Bag system to take a decission on activating the bags and the seat belt pretensioner.

Although when this cable is loose the air bag light should turn on.

I didnt have any warning lights when the cable wasnt connected, and no audible things either...

But what I do start to get is the creeking (sp?) drivers seat. Told the garage, and they said that if it was annoying enough I could bring it in... Might just take them up on that :D

Q.

Ahhhhh so if i unplug that cable it will stop the really irritating bling bling noise...........? This place is a gold mine of information (i tried the do-the-windows-up-with-the-key trick today :D )!

I had a creaky seat too - it was a broken weld and the seat was replaced under warranty. How much do the seats cost? An eye-watering

Does this mean you are a non-seatbelt wearer, Dave?

No no no!

But I always start the engine before i've settled into the seat - you know - let it warm up a bit and that while i settle down, put the stereo in, pick a CD, put the windows down etc. :D

I have the creaking seat too! PS those prices are a rip off , even the Recaro option for the Leon Cupra R is only 1200 quid!
