PD160 Intake Fitted. Fabia Vrs

Fitted my PD160 Intake today ...

After a test drive the Car actually felt less Torquey on lite throttle

I know it will have to learn some new values from the Mass Air Flow, SO i'll see what it is like after a few Miles, Hopefully the Ecu will adjust & start pumping a bit more fuel in to compensate :D

I've swapped mine over several times, and still fail to feel a difference.

Perhaps it is the Placebo effect then

& to get the full potential from it , The Car needs mapping with it fitted !! I put mine on after the mapping as it was not available before hand

More air requires more fuel which is metered by the MAF. However, the throttle position sensor is also used and the required fuel is based in airflow, throttle position, engine load, all based on the standard map. Fitting a PD160 without a remap is a total waste of time IMHO. Slightly more cool looking with the bonnet open, but not when your driving.

I felt, like you - the car seemed less torquey in normal driving mode. Have gone back to the standard 130 intake and sold on the 160.

Have you cut the "lip" that's on the very beginning on the whole pipe? I found a serious improvement when removed the lip. Before that the PD160 made almost no difference. :)

It smoothes the torque down a bit and revs more freely higher up the range, that is without a remap. However with a remap you will notice the difference much more. Just needs the air 'more' with a remap as there will be significantly increased fuelling higher up the rev range as well with that.

Without the remap though, the difference will be minimal & not worth it with the current price of the PD160 intake. If you have a tuning box, it is worth fitting too.

I fitted mine recently too and saw a big leap in MPG and response - but its also possible that the air filter was desperately in need of replacement and I fitted a K&N at the same time!

I've ran both the PD130 and the PD160 and TBH i felt no difference in the 2, slightly better throttle response with the PD160 after my remap.

If you want something that'll give you a difference, a CDA or boxed induction kit is the way to go  (thats what i've done anyway lol)
