This links been very helpful, first of all the rear washer hasn't working properly, what had happened was the pipe had come off were it goes into the fire wall.It was a easy fix just needed connecting back together,

This morning my front wipers decided to pack in I got my husband to change fuse 15 as instructed,he did try 41 at first but couldn't understand why it wouldn't work I thought it might of been something worse like a motor. but its fixed now thank god for the stickies.

If you look at the fuse panel layout the larger ones are normal sized - "Blade fuses" in Halfords-speak - and the smaller ones are likewise "Mini blade fuses"...

I'm falling at the first hurdle. Aaaaaaaaaaaagh

Without an owners manual, I can't even find the damned fuse box. No doubt cleverly disguised as somthing else - perhaps a steering wheel.

As you can tell I've had it for the night :(

I tried a link earlier in the thread to such handbooks with no avail. Can anyone help me find my marbles again?

Cheers

Andy

Open drivers door, on the side of the dash use the key, or flat headed screwdriver to prise the cover off. hey presto

Thanks for the swift reply.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

That side of the dash is completely blank, as is the passenger side. No cover.

All googles give the same answer, I tried that earlier.

2006 Fabia 1.2L

It physically covers the whole kinds triangle shape of the edge of the dash. Its not a little cover.

Matt

There is a little notch at the bottom of the cover that you can get a screwdriver into. You'll need to look closely...........

Thanks everyone, found it :giggle:

Yep, fuse 15 for me as well.

A slap in the face for the missus, & a trip to specsavers for me B) .

Andy

thanks

Fuse 15 worked for me

Replaced fuse 15 three times today on an 8½ hour drive back from Scotland - absolute nightmare of a journey with washers frozen solid for half of it. Thank God for this site! As soon as the wipers stopped working I remembered this post and somehow remembered what fuse it was too!

will try fuse 15 in the morning. Seems like I have suffered the same driving up from Yorkshire today. Not fun doing Stirling to Oban with no wipers and tight on time for the ferry. Made it just but lots of random looks as I through it into a driveway jumped out and lashed the screen with snow before racing off again :D

another thread thats just helped me out emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Dumb ass question here!

Had the issue of wipers not working, looked at handbook to try and find out about the fuses, book says fuse 15 is the wipers, yay I thought, so I off'd the fuse cover, but to my surprise there was no fuse diagram on the rear of the cover, as in all my other cars. No diagram in my handbook either.

Solved the issue by taking out each 10A fuse one at a time, checking it until I found one that looked gone, then swapped out the one that obviously took care of the interior lights, put that in, way hay, wipers working.

My question......................surely there must be a fuse diagram somewhere, that cannot be the way it should be done??

The fuse pannel layout can be found Fuse Pannel Layout It's already been linked elsewhere in this thread IIRC but to be fair it's a pretty long thread now.

Would fuse 15 be the reason for the intermittent option not working ? Everything else is working fine.

Havent got access to the car at present but would be great to know if a fuse will fix the problem :)

Which one is fuse 15? At the service station now as wipers stopped working!

Or which can I swap it with as a temp fix?

Fifth row - fuse 4 (from left) - 10 amp

If you don't have a spare use fuse two spaces above - no 13 - reversing light

Great Thread,

My wipers have just stopped working and it was Fuse 15! Off to the local car shop to buy a fair few as i think it could be a common problem this winter.

Hi

Went out to de-frost the car this morning and warm up the engine before leaving for work, unfortunately the wiper stalk was on intermittent setting when i turned the key and low and behold...no front wipers.

The front washer fluid still works (100% concentrate) the rear wash wipe still works also, however there is no life from the wipers whatsoever. Having tried all the possible fuses to no avail i have resorted to ringing my Skoda dealership who have advised, (as i am still under warranty until the 8th of Jan '11) to ring Skoda assist.

I am now waiting for them to arrive (having kindly been promised a slot before midday) and reading through the advice on the forum. I cant seem to find someone who has had a similar problem i.e. more than just a fuse!! So i am panicking now at the impending ball ache that is the repair/replacement of motor or mechanism.

Does anyone have any experience with a similar problem...

Oh i can also force the wipers to by hand with relative ease, although i have been advised that this does not necesarily mean the motors gone?

any help would be great!!

Thanks everyone. Fuse 15 swapped and back up running.

yes 3 fuses for me too, how annoying is this problem and why is it so fragile?

Same problem, washer fuse blown obviously because the motor was frozen, changed the fuse and sorted but what a stupid arrangement. The washer fuse blows so the wipers don't work.

Various things like this on modern cars, far too fancy nowadays with all the electronics. The wipers on my Octavia estate only work when the car is moving.

Service manager at out local dealer says the electronics are good for around seven years and then you can expect problems. So now cars don't rust badly, mechanical bits are generally very good but but a few pence worth of electrical bits puts the car off the road and a big bill.

Never had any of these problems on my old Minis, only four fuses and you could see everything. Think I'll buy an MGB GT, at least you can mend them.

Rant over.
