Rear arb

Featured Replies

Hi,had my Fabia VRS for a week and looking to do some small mods.

i know most people go for a remap but i really want to sort out the handling.

A rear ARB seems to be the way to go(from looking at the threads)but where do get 1 from, how much are they?

I know this has probably been done a million times but please indulge me

Many Thanks

Dave

will get some pictures of my new baby in the near future

You can get ARB's from several places.

The ones people seem to use here are the Jabba Sport ones. They cost £200 roughly and you can buy them from their online shop.

Whiteline also make ARB's for a fair bit cheaper (read below to see why). If you google "balance motorsport" you will find their shop.

Hope that helps.

hey don't do the same job at all,the jabba bar is thicker and stiffer making it the choice arb for he track day enthusiast, the whiteline one works but is not a patch on the jabba arb.

Thanks, didn't notice the different widths. :o

My car will be for general road use and as i live in the peak district, some enthusiastic driving,am i better to go for the whiteline one(and save some cash)or the Jabba?

the jabba bar is the better option if you have the cash, tightens up the body of the car niceley and is one of the best mods money can buy,i have a whiteline bar on at the minute having sold the jabba one and it will be coming off as it doesn't really seem to do a great deal,i would say on a standard car the jbba bar is the way to go,on my car it appears no arb at all is the best option.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just ask Chris Knott what the premium increase would be for the rear arb, and as I'm underwritten by Zurich, I'm allowed no mods:mad: and as I live in Manc the other underwritier who would allow it would want to more than double my premium to £1100!!!!:mad: Not impressed! Who have other Manc Briskodians insured with to get a good price and be allowed mods?

I'll have a brand new Jabba bar available in a couple of weeks, if you're interested. Got it for a friend of mine a while ago, but he never got round to fitting it and is now PX'ing the Fabia.

So drop me a PM if you want it, before I put a For Sale ad up.

We sell loads of the Whiteline ones with nothing but positive response. They make a massive difference and they're great value for money.

It is simple a matter of choice, I opted for the whiteline bar as I heard good reviews about them from a fellow member and from the company I bought it from, I'm not a track day warrior so the whiteline makes perfect sense for me

^ Same here, plus it was £111 delivered to my door as opposed to £280 :)

Perhaps if Whiteline were some dodgy company that nobody had ever heard of I would have been more inclined by the Jabba but Whiteline made more sense for me as its a non-track daily driver

Where did you get the £280 figure from?

Steve

I look at it like this. Whiteline make a couple of components for our cars, whereas Jabba do a lot. They only do a lot because people buy them. Yes, they're more expensive than the Whiteline bar, but they're made in the UK by Skoda enthusiasts who support us. If you can afford it, buy the Jabba bar. It's a better component, and it works better.

Hi there,

I have the Jabba sports ARB, but really only got this one because I was saving money and got it second hand.

If Iwas buying from new I would buy the whiteline front and rear ARB kit. doe the business to front and rear in one go...

much better.

Neil

Where did you get the £280 figure from?

Steve

sorry, about £220 aint they

Dont know if they are much better, they are adjustable and cheaper, but not as 'thick'.

I have not driven a whiteline-equipped one, but the Jabba one worked very well on mine :)

A lot depends on the price, and who you are near to. If you go to Jabba to get your car mapped, or they are near, I'd get theirs. If you are nearer to say Awesome, who do the Whiteline, get theirs.

I reckon in both cases it is a great mod :)

its all very well and good saying support jabba, but when its double the price its hard to even consider it IMO, if i get one it would defo be the whiteline, i dont want to pay £100 more for something that is probably going to be too stiff for a daily driver car anyway, the whiteline from what ive seen has better fittings, and is adjustable aswell, its a no brainer

Must admit i fancied the whiteline ARB due to the adjustment feature and obviously the price!

If Whiteline is good enough for scooby's etc.......its good enough for me

That seems a good price for both, could be interesting ;)

The Eibach front ARB does sit very low and many people who did fit them removed them again because of this.

Steve

Having fitted and refitted the Jabba rear ARB, the fitting is not that hard. The price is higher due to their R&D cost and the lower volumes they produce.

I would not say it is too stiff for road use, as I had it on the car for 60k and never got any complaints, as a matter of fact the 'flat' cornering was seen as a real improvement by my passengers.

Very predictable behaviour, no problems had :)
