Featured Replies

Hedges. Without a doubt :D Taped number plate shot gives it away ;)

Yep it's Ian's old one, we were following this through a recent salvage auction.

Yep, definitely Ians old one.

IIRC it was written off because he insisted on a replacement engine and turbo after it was nicked.

AFAIK it was the dealer that provided the estimate who were not prepared to confirm or deny it's viability.

cheers guys... i was just curious with noticing the sticker... was just doing a general search as to what 2nd hand octy II vRS's were going for now ;) and that popped up

Shame to see what those b:mad:st:finger:rds did to it

That's a shame to see - :(

Not me.

The repairing bodyshop were not prepared to guarantee the repair unless a new engine and turbo were fitted.

Its like a bad penny that keeps coming back to haunt me.:o

£5750?! Robbing gets!!

So you didnt keep the number plate?

What do they mean by "minor damage"

So if the bodyshop didnt insist on a new engine and turbo it would be back otr?

and why did they insist on them?

Shame you lost your car though, it never looks the same afterwards does it?

My Felly is sat on the drive and it looks barren and sad

Hope the buggers who nicked it get whats coming to them.

Just curious.

So you didnt keep the number plate?

Nope. I would have had to spend money to retain it and then what. No one is buying these kind of things.

The bodyshop insisted on an engine and turbo as they would have to guarantee the work.

Arrrrrrggghhhhh, I would've had it back mate!!!!!

Thanks for the steer - must have missed that thread on the way through.

Merged threads to avoid doubling up. :)

how come it doesn't mention the write off?

Those pictures are actually the ones posted by the Auction company.

What actual damage was done and what's wrong with the engine and turbo? Was the sump busted or something?

The sellers command of English is fantastic :)

Did they ever catch the scumbags that "borrowed" it Ian?
