Featured Replies

Hi folks !

Need to sort myself out with the parts for upgrading my front brakes but not able to find the advert for them that i found on ebay a couple of months ago. Sorry for posting here but wondered if im just being dim and missing the ad or if there was any other source ? It was basicly everything need to change to 312mm discs, pads, calipers and carriers all delivery mileage from a TT ? Can anyone help ?

Much appreciated

Bob

golfturbo is usually the seller on Ebay , whether he actually has any kits left is another thing

does anyone have the part numbers for the calipers and carriers ?

Yeah I wouldn't mind knowing this too. A friend of mine works in Audi and can get me a bit of discount. It would be nice to know how much they would be from the stealers.

I believe he does.

As always, VRStu's site is extremely useful....

Fabia-vrs.com - 312mm Brake Upgrade Kits

I take it these won't be the same part numbers as the Audi equivalent. Can anyone find out what those are?

fitted i can see it costing £400+

do these calipers come up much from scrapped cars ?

I charge £400 to supply and fit so your about right.

But thats using Golfturbo kits which are all near as damn it brand new, best way to go.

interesting, im gonna need new front discs and pads in the coming months, however an OE setup will only cost me ~£150 fitted though obviously keeping my calipers, £250 extra is a lot to spend when i dont go on track, but i did manage to fade the brakes the other week which was a pretty scary experience and its worried me about how good even a new setup might be of the OE size

I would say for the Fabia its the best mod you can do.

The 312 upgrade is money well spent IMHO - the brakes last longer, they do not fade on the road, and from my understanding even on the track they are not bad at all.

For a lot of people, apart from the lack of fade, the other reason is the pedal feel is so much better and inspires confidence in the brakes.

Highly recommended

Thanks guys for your info. Found the ebay name Vag-bitz on another thread and have sent him a msg through ebay to see if he has any kits. Do you know if this is the same guy as Golfturbo or if theres any way to contact Golfturbo as i couldnt find any record of him on ebay ?

Thanks for all your help

Bob

According to vRS Stus website they are supplied off nearly new Audi TT's.

The only reason I didnt buy one of these kits was because I wanted some uprated discs and pads, but in hindsight I probably should of bought the kit and sold the OEM discs and pads as its been a pain in the backside sourcing all the bits seperately and Scrappy's are very reluctant to sell only the carriers / calipers etc.

The fall of the pound is going to be taking it's toll on these, like everything sourced in Europe.

Steve is Golfturbo, he should be able to help out.
