Remapped RS TDi CR Dyno Results!

Featured Replies

The gearbox should be able to take the torque no problem if it is the same one as in the Fabia vRS, the only catch is the clutch - that will be toast at those levels if you use it much.

One day the attachments will work hehehe - as long as the curve is smooth though, you can usually put a fair bit of the torque down. Generally there is nothing that restricts torque in the lower gears, so it is a matter of controlling it with your right foot :)

How many miles are on the car?

If it is anything like mine then another 10k miles and you'll liberate a further 4-5 BHP.

The torque is stonking! PD remaps seem to achieve about 315 lbft.

You might aswell order a few new front tyres now.

The car has close to 11k km just over 6500 mls

There was a 08 Golf 170PD that was remapped with a map her got from Germany. He got 202Bhp and 365lb/ft of torque!

I was told I would get 60 lb/ft of extra torque after the remap but I got almost 95lb/ft :-)

That looks very good (according to the written data, no attachment for me either ;)).

What wonders me, is that your peak power is at 3700 already. What are the gear ratios for the CR. If they are the same as for the PD, than a CR will be the wrong car for me.

Depends on how strong the power tails off, after 3700.

I would rather have it at over 4250. As 4250 gives it normal topspeed (225km/h) and at 4500 it would be 238km/h.

Curious to see your diagramm (as soon as the server problems are over).

@Bahnstormer, we have pretty much the same cars at home

Now I can see the attachments. Nice curve and the 170bhp at the wheels say more than the calculated 200. Why did they break off at 4200 already? Doesnt the CR easily run up to almost 5000?

Power holds on strong up to 4200, would like to know how it falls off after that. (than it should be a good autobahnstormer ;)

The remap I have has a very smooth power delivery with no let up in the power up to 4500rpm. There's no point in reving it any further that that as its every bit as quick changing up at 4k rpm;)

That sure is a lot of torque - can the standard clutch cope with that?

Its a lot of torque alright, but the delivery is very smooth thought. So it should be fine;)

i had to replace mine on a petrol vRS so dont bank on it

Any idea how a DSG box would cope with this much power going through it ?

Lets hope so for the sake of the gearbox too!

If thats an accurate dyno reading then that is a whopping result.:)

Lee

The dyno run was done at Westward Engineering in Enfield here in Ireland and it has a reputation of being one of the most accurate around.

Erm depends which one 7 speed wont not sure about 6 or it could be the other way round.

There was a discussion about it on here not so long ago. whichever is fitted to a 1.8TSi Octy

350Ib/ft of torque, jesus christ. you must need balet dancer feet to keep the tyres from spinning up in the wet with that much torque.

It delivers its power as smoothly a the orignal mapping. I wheelspins in 1st and 2nd in the wet like before, but even with all its new found torque if dosent wheelspin in 3rd. So it must be the way its mapped

Anyone who didn't wait for the CR engine over the PD 170 i would be kicking myself right now. That CR engine is so quite. I heard the engine idling yesterday and you would find it hard to tell if it was a petrol or a diesel under the bonnet. I have never heard a diesel so quiet.

The CR is really quiet compared to the PD engine. Especially when you listen to them side by side.

The remap I have has a very smooth power delivery with no let up in the power up to 4500rpm. There's no point in reving it any further that that as its every bit as quick changing up at 4k rpm;)

I hardly ever rev the engine that high in gear, but on the autobahn it will easily run its 4300 or more. That is why I am interested in the curve beyond 4200 ;)

With a good Bluefin mapping my PD also did 5000 without falling off to strong. :D

Having driven both I would say however that the PD is probably a little bit quicker though.

I think the PD engine feels quicker because of the way it delivers its power. Where the CR has a smoother power delivery.

I think the CR would be the easier car to fast in the wet as it wont break traction as quickly due to its nice delivery of power

The remap I have has a very smooth power delivery with no let up in the power up to 45000rpm.

45000rpm :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
