Louder Diesel Burble......

Featured Replies

Have had Fab VRS for a couple of weeks and have noticed in neutral the diesel burble form the engine/grearbox is lounder when in neutral. If i push the gearlever to the left or right(or engage a gear it stops, gets quieter) Ant feedback form you guys? It seem to be more noisey when there is some slack in the gear shift

This has been discussed many times before, mine does the same but apparently it wears in then stops doing it

Mine does it different slightly if you have the clutch down or up... must be something to do with the flywheel for me - something I just got used to as its the norm. Barely noticeable anyway until someone mentions it on here. :D

That's usually a sign of a knackered clutch release bearing but tends to be quite loud & on high milage cars........

Its always done it from new more or less - but is barely noticeable really, and is only 50K to the good. I'll keep my eye, I mean ear, on it! ;)

I wouldn't worry about it then.;)

My old AX GT used to do it but that had 90K on it & a rather thrashed....er...I mean well run-in engine!!! :D

diesel burble

A V8 Petrol engine burbles. A Diesel engine clatters in an agricultural type manner........

I notice this noise thing in my non-vrs Fabia 1.9TDI.. I just thought it was to do with vibration coming through the gear shaft and you just notice it more in Neutral than any other gear. Leave it in first gear when at those lights is what I say.. or turn the volume on that stereo up a little. :)
