Southern meet

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have been having quite a few interesting PM conversations with delcac about all things Skoda. And we think its about time we all got together for another Southern meeting? I missed the last one which was held in Bexleyheath. Are you guys up for another one soon at the same location? I was thinking of the first Sunday in June?

What do you think?

Anytime besides Hastings isn't that bad;)

Suppose it will keep SWMBO happy and the dog likes the beach :D

I'd be interested in meeting up...

Q.

I'd be up for another one, maybe this time the castle will be open:D

I'll have some.

No passengers or pregnant people this time :D .

Would love to come, the only argument would be do we bring my Octavia or Wendys.

Keep me posted

If I am free will be there - what date are we thinking of?

Date: How about 8th June?

Time: To be decided by mutual consensus?

Venue: The Black Prince Pub/Hotel in Bexley on the A2.

Lloyd

Just a small point on The Black Prince pub, it's not a pub any more it's a Holiday Inn. Just thought I best mention it.

Quite possibly, depends on a few other "events" which may take precedence

How far is Hastings from Devon? If it wasn't too far i'd think about coming along too - May even have my sticker by then too :D

It's bloody MILES, Jason - 270 miles using the M5/M4 which is the long way round. You could come along the Sarf Coast via Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton - which improves in the latter stages because of the M27, but would still take hours. That's about 220 miles.

Doesn't sound too bad if it would be a complete day-out. How far do most people travel to get to these meets? I reckon the A303 would be a good route to take, but I'd have to do a route-find on the AA website, which is bloody useful for finding good routes. Mental note made for early June... :D

Bloomin' 'eck! I just did an AA route finder and it is about 250 miles from Okehampton to Hastings. I never realised that Hastings was that far along the South coast - Its practically Dover! :(

I'm going to have to see how wealthy I feel around the time - thats a lot of fuel to get there and back...

Thanks Des,

So what time should we meet at the Holiday Inn, in Bexley on the A2 on 8th June?

Just checked on the AA routefinder site and it's 74 miles from me.

Assuming a) Girlies are invited and B) I am allowed out to play on my own, I may come along.

Jane

Girlies are always welcome :D

It sounds to me like the best place which is easy to get to for everyone would be somewhere on the M4 corridor... I can't think of anywhere worth visiting though (dancing naked around stonehenge, anyone?) :D

Maybe we could race some MOD tanks around the Salisbury Plains as well?
