Bexley is 130 miles for me. Better than Hastings which is 153.

Yes I belive we are meeting in Bexley? It was Mellowyellow who wanted to avoid going to his in-laws who lived in Hastings?

Lloyd

How about a Mid Southern meet, somewhere like say the point where the A34 & A303 cross, Its called Bullington Cross, it has a pub in the middle of the road junction & Sutton Scotney services (about 2 miles) sells Optimax.

Easy to access from all points south & the wilds of Devon.

Stuart

Edited to add I should own up to living fairly close

Anything that mentions A303 is good for me... :D Very handy for the wilds of Devon (and it doesn't get much wilder than where I'm from) - I must post some pics of Dartmoor on my site at some stage... *post-it note written to myself*

That suits me too Stuart

How about a meet in Colchester - would suit me and Stimps.

Not handy for anyone else but neither is Devon so I guess it doesn't really matter !

If we had some idea how widely spread the people interested in meeting up are it would be possible to come up with some ideas for an easily accessible location which would be as central as possible. That way we might all get together without anyone having to drive 250 miles each way for the meet. So, Jane, you're in Colchester? Jason is in Okehampton. Halfway between those two points is roughly Reading. Anyone else on the outer edge of the circle? I know there are some people in deepest Kent...

This may be a non-starter - but it would be nice to meet everybody rather than have splinter groups forming because the meet is too far for more than a couple of people to reach. Any other opinions/suggestions?

It may sound far-fetched, but if Colin had a big map of the UK on a wall, you could stick pins in the various locations of us all. That may give a hint to a good location for everyone. I don't mind travelling 200 miles or so if the roads are good, which is why Hastings wasn't so good for me.

I'm not familiar with Colchester at all, but anything that has a chester in the name, is normally a nice place to go, history, etc. I think it's relatively close to me too

PS: I appreciate all the effort being put into these meets. Its good to see

How about the Isle of Wight!

I hear the ferry's very cheap this time o' year.:D

Steve

I would ge interested in comming along, as long as I am free....

The only decision would be which car to brind the Superb or the RS?

Cheers

You want to buy a ferry!

93 miles to the place stuart mentioned for me.

I'd be up for this southern meet. I live in Potters Bar, just north London. Bexley is about 42 miles from me according to AA route master.

Yep , I'm up for it , as long as we can decide where to meet by 8th June :D

/me wanders off to look at the map...

Well, its closer than Hastings and probably closer than Bexley... To be honest, nothing is close to Aylesbury, except Milton Keynes ;)

Q.

PS. That means I'll be alright for any location other than the Scottish Borders :D

Quinten

Dammit , thats me out then...lol....Well it would be a Southern Meet , just a Southern Scotland one! :)

Would be nice to see a few Fabia's and/or Superb's or other cars for that matter instead of the usual RS suspects not that that's a bad thing.

Would I be able to keep up on your " spirited drive"?

Cheers

I am normally the back marker you can follow me ;)

I suppose another silly suggestion to make the distance similar for all would be the Shetland Islands but that is as I said a tadge silly although I guess some would be up for it !!!!! (TaviaRS ???)

Pins in a map sounds a good idea so a suggestion:-

If all who are interested post their nearest main town/city & county this makes it quick & easy easy for Colin to find on a map & then a decision can be made.

I would also suggest somewhere on or near a main road/motorway would be an idea & maybe near something else of Interest to make it more of a day out for those travelling a long way

so those interested:-

If people now copy & paste the above into their reply & add their details it saves someone having to trawl through loads of replies (hopefully there's loads)

Kentish, yes, just follow Des! :D
