vRS dump valve

Featured Replies

hi all, just bought a balieys twin piston dv (dv26)

has anyone on the site done a dv on the rs?

mate says that i will have to get the balieys dv fitting kit?

that true? just that the guy in the shop did not say anyting about a fitting kit

thanks all for your time

chris

where in the instructions does it say to fit it?

if its in the OEM postion the no fitting kit if its in the intercooler pipe you will need a fitting kit

yeah the dv is for the intercooler pipe! thanks for time!

will get on to getting the fitting kit for it!

I have the DV26 and you will need the fitting kit which also comes with instructions for a VW Golf. It is a quality kit though, and fitting took about an hour(even by me). Now the car seems to spool up quicker after gear changes and after six months I still love that noise!! Even though SHMBO says I am sad and shakes her head a lot.

So has anyone used the above linked DV? Results? Is this the DV26?

just ordered the fitting kit this morning for 61 pounds!

should be here in nice time for the car coming out of the garage

cheers chris

does it dump without an induction kit?

No it is not the DV26 (only available from Bailey motorsport) P S I would like to gauge(?) a response to the differance between the DV26 and the DV30 by people with experience of both!

difference(?) sorry long day.

mines is defo the balieys dv26!

is the dv30 not the Re-circulating Piston Dump Valve?

chris

I am also interested as to which is the most suitable as have been toying with either a DV30 or DV26, looks like the DV26 requires a fitting kit? Whats the difference please :)

The DV26 is a BOV and the DV30 is a DV........the DV30 is like the standard dv and recirculates excess boost into the airbox whilst the DV26 vents to the atmosphere.....likes you here on Cossies.

If you a thinking on getting the DV26 purely from a sound point of view also consider getting the DV30 (or Forge 007/Hyboost dv) and a CAI. You can definately hear the "pstsh" more and will get a slight performance improvement.

All my usual disclaimers apply. ;)

Have gone down the green panel filter route but would like a bit more noise. As the car was designed to use a DV30 type of DV will the DV26 effect the cars performance? Sorry if I sound thick

Should be fine but would say car is designed for a DV and not a BOV although the DV26 is designed to get around this.....if you know what I mean.

If you want more sound and don't want to go the DV26 route then get a CAI.

Thanks SkodiRS, am still undecided......think I am going to go down the DV30 route..but then again a DV26 may give me more psstt... :D

chris

After much deliberation I have decided to go for the DV30 from jabba, should be in the post tomorrow, will let you know how it goes.

does the DV30 look the same as the original unit? Any pics before/after?

  • Author

yeah dv30 is just the same, but comes in different colours and looks a lot better!

forge has also got a good range the same as the dv30 starting from 80+

chris!

well my dv26 is on the car! no kit needed!

car seems to be running fine etc!

blanked of the air box pipe hole and the connected the dv to the other rubber hose and then back to vaccum pipe!

everythings seems ok just now!

ive read a fair bit on this site and i have to say alot of you worry over very little and even more of you have no idea what your on about, yes you know bits about turbo cars etc but not everything you know is valid in all posts....id recommend some of you to read the how to website and find out how a turbo system works.

i fitted the dv26 to chris's car it took the total of 5min to do and he has the pictures to show, the only reason they fit a baileys fitting kit is becuase turbo cars have loads of very technical sensors for checking air mass and pressure all of which adjust fueling etc within the ecu,

the reason people dont like non-recirc dvs is because the ecu is ecpecting more air pressure when throttle is released (the recirced air going back into pre turbo induction) and as its not there the car over fuels this is not a bad thing but does mean it will kill your cat after a while so a decate is benifitial.

where as a recirc one keeps the ecu figures all correct.

the dv we fitted to chris's car fitted right onto the old dv hose off the top of the post charged metal hose, and the other vent to pre indcutrion system sipmly gets blocked off, just like every other turbo car out there. (numerous ones ive had including my current car) i have never had any problems with the afm and rough idle and neither does chris now.

sorry for the rant but i realise this is a resently new forum amd i have seen it time and time again on many a forum where the blind lead the blind and it causes un-intended distress.

sorry if this has offended any one but i felt it needed said.

oh and hi....

I'm seem to be missing the point here. Why on earth would anyone want to fit a DV which causes overfuelling and damages their car's cat? For a wooshy noise?

cause such is life m8, this is what happens, you buy a turbo and you want people to know you have one....and its another excuse to get a decate and get some of those ponies back.

Don't worry mate, I think I've missed it too.
