Rear jacking points?

Featured Replies

Best place to jack my fabia up on the back?

Assuming with a proper trolley jack, we did mine on the main bar that connects the suspension left to right.

Dunno what others think of that, but it worked for us, got it high enough to get some axel stands under it.

Jacking on the rear beam can bend it, on the vRS i had for a test drive there was a large sticker on the rear beam stating you mustn't jack there... there isn't one on my vRS but ir'll be the same.

Opps, will bear that in mind next time! Don't think it did anything this time but won't do it again!

Jack it on the sill with a piece of wood to prevent damage

Cut a groove in the wood if you can to help stop any damage to the lip and also help it stay in place when jacking

Mine didn't have the sticker- it was usefully in the document wallet:rolleyes:

Under the flat bit or the lip of the sill?

Dont suppose there are any decent photos of trolly stands and jack stands both front and rear

Have searced for 'fabia jacking points' but only get a dozen or so posts. Had a quick look on google, but nothing is close enough to see properly where they are placed and its just the stand and not the trolley

Front - jack on the reinforced point under the sill with a thick piece of wood and a groove cut into it. Place jack stands under the large "O" Console bush mounts under behind the front wheels

Rear - I jack it under the spring cups, with a large square of thick wood between the jack and the spring cup base. I then place the jack stands on the reinforced sill points with a strong piece of grooved wood between the car and jack stand.,

I jack the rear of the car under the rear bush mounts, whether or not I should I don't know but it's not caused any damage yet!

I think this is an octavia but it's a similar idea. I jack under the bit the screwdriver is touching.

If you are going to be using a reasonable DIY sized trolley jack, and you want to be able to just chuck the jack under and lift it regularly, then why not consider fitting a set of Audi TT jacking point protectors - these things "do as they say" and you will always be able to spot the correct "alternate" safe jacking points. After doing that I tend to use shaped/padded axle stand adaptors to support the car at the four sill reinforced points.
