Recommend me tyres (Mk1 vRS)

Recommended Posts

Oh my word......another tyre thread. :orb_sleep

Does anyone know how to search these days?

To help these are generally the most popular in no particular order:

Hankook Ventus V12 Evo

Falken FK-452

Toyo Proxes T1-R

Khumo KU31

Goodyear Eagle F1 assymetrics

Yep, tyres are always a hot topic for hot cars! I spent £1000 on tyres alone on year on my old R200 BRM.

Recently had some Falken FK452 and they seem to be really good for the price.

Sorry, i shall use search next time.

Thats OK bud just joking with you :D

Some things seem to be covered over and over.

This being the 3rd "which tyre" type thread in the last month in this section.

Hope I have been some help for you with my other post.

I've had 4 Kumho KU31's now (7th in the '08 EVO tyre test). Such a good tyre. Lasted almost 25k miles (18 months) and worked well on track too.

Paid £61.99+vat per tyre (fitted/balanced etc).

I just don't understand how I killed those kumhos on mine in 4.5k ?????

I did have bush issues but even so it still puzzles me

Well I have 2 new ones on now, so I'll let you know if they wear away quickly or not.

Did they wear heavily on any side in particular, or just all over? Pretty weird!

How the Toyo's coping?

They look good, let us know what they are like, the tread wear rating is 140 so I am guessing they will be really sticky but last about 5mins.

The T1R's are 280 and they arn't the best for wear rates, so I guess your right, though those new ones do look quite mean. I can't seem too find a uk supplier though, maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

The T1R's seem too be holding up to there usual wear rate, the kuhmos wore equally all over but just ate themselves, had them fitted last september and they were gone on Jan 10th :o

BIG thumbs up to CAMSKILL! As i was near that neck of the woods i decided to pop in and ended up with 4x Eagle f1 assys 225/45/17. About £95 fitted (each)

It is amazing what a difference a fresh set of boots make. Enjoying the car again!

Thanks to everyones suggestions.
