At last I've found a site that caters for us Skoda drivers.

I've had my Black Magic Octy vRS (known as Speedy) for 2 years now and have covered 43,000 miles of happy motoring. Only major problem in that time was a water pump failure :thumbdwn:

Apart from that I LOVE IT it's the best car I've ever owned, so for those of you that are waiting to take delivery of an RS, be patient it's worth the wait.

Had a look round the site and found out about the climatronic trick. DEAD SMART! I'll have a proper mess about with it in the next couple of days to find out what's what.

Yes I know that it's sad to give your car a name but I blame the wife (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). Any other sad individuals with names for their cars out there or am I on my own?

Mine is called "the Skoda" to distinguish it from the other cars in the household, none of which is a Skoda :P

Mark (Panrix)'s vRS is called Nutty. That's the only other name I'm aware of. Saddos!! :P

Mine has been christened "The Fecalator" by my mates. Cant think why though....

Climatrnic Tricks

Speedometers have a factory built.doc

There's been lots of discussion on the Climatronic functions in the past. Some caveats:

1. The Skoda ones are NOT the same as Audi or VW models

2. The Clima speed display is about as inaccurate as (or slightly worse than) the speedo. The speedo reads over, the clima reads under, when checked vs GPS.

Anybody who drives a Skoda gets a in my book as it's one in the eye for all badge snobs out there. On the other hand if anyone 10 or 12 years ago had told me I'd be driving a Skoda (and proud of it) I'd have laughed at them. I suppose you live and learn though. :rubchin:
