Problems burning an MP3 disc.

Featured Replies

I've got a Stream MP3 unit in my Octy, and seem to be having trouble burning discs. Am I missing something?

I copy about 6 or 7 folders (albums) onto a disc, but when I try to play them in the car, it only recognises and plays some of the folders.

I've tried different discs, different burn speeds, but the results are hit and miss.

Any advice? Thanks very much.

are all the files .mp3 as the unit wont recognise .acc or m4a. how many files are there in each folder and have you closed it when burning?

what i do is

put blank CD in pc (win XP)

right click on music folders > send to > then the CD drive

This copies them to a window, you open it, click burn, close the disc, voila.

I dont use any fancy software or nero and it works perfectly for me.

your mileage may vary

They cant be WMA or WAV either, they must be .mp3.

Never had an issue when I had my audience HU, just burn them as a data CD and ensure the session is closed and it should work.

If you've been using windows media player to do teh conversion for you it'll probably be doing them as wma.

If you used CDex or something like that it'll keep you right.

Thanks for the excellent replies. You've solved my problem

My music is from a variety of sources, and on checking some are indeed .wma files. These are the ones that don't play.

Now I know what the cause is, I can sort it out.
