Would never attempt that mate lol I'm mental but not THAT mental

What parts would be required to do a hybrid? Just looking for something that'll be safe with a little more power.

But you dont want a hybrid, you want a big fat SuperCharger.

Listen to the 1st 40sec :

Told you, you want a S/C.

You can do it.

Fitting a S/C to a turbo'd car is easyer than turbocharging a car to start with.

Just get a S/C of a 4.0L engine and bin your turbo (when I say bin, I mean sell it to cover the cost of the S/C).

If I had the time, I would have done it already.

Look, I've even found you a charger...

Supercharger Eaton M112 from a Jaguar V8 on eBay, also, Jaguar, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-Mar-09 20:00:00 GMT)

All this money that is being theoretically spent trying to eek a bit more power out of a rather average 5 door hatchback could be better spent theoretically buying a better, faster car. That's the advice I always give these days, find a logical modifying limit and don't go over it. IMHO, the Fabia can stand about £1k of worthwhile improvements before you should be considering banking the cash in readiness for something better.

@ lofty: you'll never get a 112 in a fabia's engine bay... well you probably could, but only without the engine in there

Plenty of space for an sc in the region of the alternator - would have to relocate that, though. Not sure if the ductwork would fit - would you have to have two (grown-up sized) intercoolers, for example?

There are a few people adding superchargers to their lupo gti engines at the moment. Biggest issue seems to be lowering the compression ratio with a thicker head gasket... (and flowing the head)...
