Jabbasport superpro bushes

Featured Replies

Fitted the dogbone mount with the superpro bush today. I was very impressed by the way it made the gear changes smoother. You can tell the engine doesnt rock like it used to with the OE one. There is only a very slight increase in vibration felt. I do mean very slight as in hardly noticeable. That was my worst fear about fitting one but I am glad I did. Much better than the stock part and even better for the cost!

On another note, I have just booked my car into Jabba to have the Superpro console bushes fitted. They look to be very good and will be able to give a good write up once they are fitted. The ones Im getting fitted alter the castor/camber angles slightly. Nick did explain it to me but I have forgotten exactly what he said. Either way, they will improve the handling and thats what I want:D

I'm interested in how it alter the castor/camber and by how much?

Is this both the front and rear bushes? Do you mind me asking how much their charging? PM if you want.

Thanks

How much for the Dogmount?

Did you get them to fit it, or did you do it yourself?

If you fitted it yourself, was i easy?

Dave

Have you a link to the product page on there website? or any pics of the mount?

Thanks,

Mike

Really, really, really easy. Need to get the car up, drop under tray, undo 4 13 socket screws, dogbone out, new dogbone in, redo screws, get under tray back on.

The bush was £40 and Nick pressed the bush into the mount and sent it me on an exchange basis. I then fitted it and am sending him my old one back.

I havent talked price on the new setup but Nick did say the bushes front and rear would be about £130 ish. Plus the labour on top. I will get a better idea next week when he rings me to confirm the bushes have arrived.

Nick mentioned there are 2 types of bushes from Superpro. One is a normal uprated bush and the second type has an offset centre. This reduces front end lift by altering the angle of the wheels. Or something similar? Best to phone Nick and ask him to explain it properly.

When they fit them, I will take some photos to show the new bushes.

Hope this helps?

I didnt take any pics and the mount is not showing on the Jabba website. I do remember that there was a post not so long back where there was a pic of one. I really should have taken a pic and posted it. But hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Here's a picture I took when I did mine last month;

So what are the pro's and neg's of the anti lift bush?

Interesting for me too. Here's the bush itself:

I think it alters the camber, but the site doesn't say how much. Anybody more competent than me, please?

And with the Anti-Lift bushes, How do you line the bushes up to get the required geometrics?

I'd reckon that, if you have a close look at the picture of these bush assemblies, you will see "marks" round the excentric aluminium bush holder, the idea will probably be to insert this part in the correct orientation - exactly the same positioning both sides - and that will be that as I would not expect that you could at a later date remove them and reposition them for a different setting - unless you saved them by chopping up the consoles!

I went to Jabbasport today to get the bushes installed. The job did not take long including the wheel alignment. Which I was very pleased with! Nick printed me a graph of the overall setup and both the front and back were within tolerance. Nick mentioned that most fabia rear beams are slightly out and mine was one of the few that he had seen that is straight.

But that aside, my test drive in the car after the bushes were fitted. Well the transformation of the handling is unbelievable! It reminded very much of the steering feeling I had in my Focus RS. We all know how well they were set up so to say that I was pleased by the way this car handles is an understatement!

The steering is more direct and you can really feel what the front wheels are doing. There is no vagueness in the steering anymore. Acceleration and braking is improved too. There is no twitching from side to side anymore. The car stays in the direction you point it! The overall front end is firmer but there is no increase in vibration being transferred through to the cabin. Plus the front end doesnt lift like it used to. You can feel the car is more poised and remains virtually flat when doing anything really. You have really got to drive the car to believe how much difference 4 bushes have made to the handling! I have only covered 60 miles since having them fitted and most of them have been in a straight line, But when you get to some twisty roads, they really give you the :D factor!

I do not know how they compare to normal cupra bushes. All I know is that they work and are well worth the investment!

The only draw back to the bushes that I can see is increased tyre wear and a decrease in my mpg:rolleyes:

I would just like to say a big  to Nick and his team at Jabbasport for sorting my car. They really are down to earth people, who know what they are talking about and nothing is too much trouble for them. So thanks again!

Which bush did you go for? fast road or competition?

I went for the anti lift bush. I didnt actually specify which grade of bush, as Jabba ordered them. I would presume it would not be a competition bush and it would just be the normal uprated grade.

Sorry I meant for the dogbone mount. There's 2 types SPF2907-70k and 80k. I think it'll be the fast road use

I still can't understand how the offset (anti-lift) bushes are properly lined...
