Rusty Discs On VRS LE

Featured Replies

Does anyone encounter the same problem i seem to be having since purchasing my new VRS LE.

The first sign of any moisture in the air and the discs take on a bright orange colour with rust.

Problem with this is every time i clean the car, i get all the wheels spotless and then within 100 yards my lovely clean wheels are covered in a ginger haze:thumbdwn:

By the way i'm not gingerist :)

They are cast iron, get over it :)

Oops just read Rossdooks thread on the very same thing and judging from the replies i await the barage of (helpful) reponses. (Not!)

I really must learn to read :rotz:

Amen to that brother! :D:thumbup:

100 yards down the road and its all gone

I'll withhold the WD-40/spray grease based comments :D

Welcome aboard.

Dont forget to sign the LE register

I've never seen this before, can you post up some pictures?

Its the oxidisation on the wearing faces of the brake discs. The moisture in the air, rain and car washing will cause it, perfectly normal.

Thanks ;)

A bit of rust on the disks in normal, as everyone else has said.

Think yourself lucky that you dont have a Ford, the entire bodyshell rusts away a little bit more after every wash! :D

Come on Skoda.....Wheres my LE! Not long left now until my current car rots away!!

It won't be long now until it's here and then it's yours hopefully your Fiesta will last just long enough.

Nelspeed Welcome to the Le club (not many of us about ). Ive noticed it on my Le as well but hey it normal.

Brown have they not even give you a date for the car?

No definitive date as of yet!

Hopefully towards the end of this month, Skoda are being a bit stupid if you ask me as they appear to be fitting the leather now, rather than when the cars where built, hence the delay.

How long was there between your order and delivery?

Drive the car more then it wont have time to build up rust on the discs!!

Why do people complain about the wheels on the LE? I think they look quite nice, especially with the replacement badges :)

Brown : I walked into the showroom on the 28th of feb to order and i got into the car 27 of march.

As it has been paided by company they paided cash, maybe it speeded things up

Cash doesn't matter. I suspect you got ones they actually built and leathered beforehand, all the stock ones went very quickly. BrownD9 is waiting for petrol LE 57 and last I heard they had just done number 43 and that was a week ago.

His should be here in a week or two, but we as dealers have no clue as we only get told as Skoda tell us and there doesn't seem to be any method to the order in which they are doing the leather upgrade on the cars. They seem to be doing the diesel ones quicker than the petrol ones.
