Audi A8 4.2 Cat D Repaired

Featured Replies

Autotrader currently has a 4.2 V8 TDi for sale. Less than 30k milage for just under £18k

The Car is apperntly a CAT D repaired by Audi. Question is, would you entertain it?

I've been after a car like this a while, so would it be worth it?

I would , but I'd want to see photos of what it was like before , and probably negotiate a bigger discount.

Makes you wonder what was done to write off such a valuable car? I know the body panels are aluminium but to then get it repaired by Audi?

Would defo want to know the history, but would consider it for sure!

Company does not answer on any number......

Spoke to the company selling it. "You dont really get history with CAT D's. The previous owner will have had it repaired, and the details are with whichever Audi dealer that was with. We've just taken it in as a part ex and have nothing on it"

Hmmmm

Two words for you

Walk Away:rolleyes:

Ask to see logbook with previous owners name/address and contact them.

Agreed. It would be a 400mle round trip to look at it, so I wanted t get as much info as I could on it before even thinking about it. No History, No Chance....

I agree with Jay.

The potential is there for it to be a bargain.

Not too far from me.;)

I drove a Q7 with a V8 4.2 TDI it is awesome.

If your really interested in buying it then get an RAC/AA check done on the car. It's £250 but they'll be able to tell you if it's been repaired properly etc. Worth it when your spending that kinda cash!!

Just found out it was involved in a rear end shunt, but insurance decided not to pay out, but the previous owner had it repaired by Audi. Belonged to a Tool Hire place in Whitby

The dealer claims to have paid £17,200 for it from and is picking it up from Harrogate (near where I live) so is going to meet me at Woolley Edge Services near where I live.

I have the Reg number, so does anyone know if they can pop this into a seaech have have a check for me?

A dealer would have a profit margin of well under £800 on a car like this?! (after advertising and transportation costs). Pull the other one!

:iagree:

Bet they didn't pay a penny over £15k

Anyone have any more information on this car please?

Well, Salesman agreed to meet me near where I live so I could view the car as he travelled down the M1 after he had collected it from Harrogate. Claimed he was stuck in traffic, and would ring me back. I checked the traffic report where he was and it was clear.

Rung him again, and this time after a bit of "err, erm" said he had given up on the M62 (ang on, were you not on the M1!) and decided to head home.

Basically, this ****** has ****ed me about so to anyone wanting to buy this car from him, beware, he's a lying git. He said, he'll put some pics on the net, and he'll be back up Barnsley way on Tuesday. TBH, he can ****. I aint buying this now....

If he did not want to sell me it, why did he just not tell me!! Hope the mother ****er gets rear ended by a 40 tonne juggernaut while going home! *******!

RANT OVER!

There's always a reason when it's too good to be true. Glad you "walked away".

You could post the reg number in this thread, then anyone using google to search for the reg plate will find this thread.

Probably better than he thought and the price will go up on autotrader?

WP56 JJX is the reg.

It sounds a fully tricked out motor, and a I did speak to the original owner who said it was a great car. Damage repair was 2 new rear wings and a rear boot.

Only 2 things wrong with it now are :-

Faulty front parking sensor, which the last owner confirmed.

A toss pot dealer now has it.

Makes my blood boil. I hate dealing with car salesmen!!!

If insurance didn't pay out, will it be a Cat D?
