Carbon Fibre Parts

Featured Replies

OK People i know some people were after carbon fibre bits for there engine bay.

I am currently in talks with a company that can manufacture such materials.

What parts would you like for octavia and fabia.

Looking at engine covers and battery covers. Maybe carbon bumper inserts for the octy vrs and also the plastic part that sits around the inlet manifold.

Any more ideas.

What about something for around the exhaust where the cut out is in the bumper on the Octavia vRS. Just a thought, would it look okay?

Would be interested in bonnet, wings, door skins etc ;)

engine cover for the fabia 1.4 & others

bonnets - no-one currently makes them..but i realise what a huge expense this would be.

as other parts go...gould give you a list as long as my arm :P

I would like a carbon fibre bonnet with venting for heat-escape at the back of the engine, and meshed vent just behind the battery area for cool air intake. But I suppose this isn't exactly the types of suggestions you were looking for........

Leeboy, I think that would work really well on your car...

As for the rest of you, if you want a lighter engine and battery cover, try removing them? Not sure I understand the concept of *adding* a lightweight component?

Not really, Chris ..

I think you confuse that "plastic-wannabe-looklike-plastic-rubbish"

with real carbon-fibre parts.

Must be a question of personal taste, but in my opinion this plastic

things are worthless.... :thumbdwn:

And to be honest: I think those things don

Lee,

I've just had an email back from www.litetuned.com regarding an enquiry I made earlier today for a c/f Octy bonnet, just out of curiosity you understand.

Unfortunately we do not cater for the Octavia due to the fact that we

Smudger (Boyfriend) is looking into doing CF bits for the Fab vRS and The Oct but needs to know if the fuse box cover, battery box cover, engine cover are different to each car in the range. ie: are the 1.9tdi in the polo the same as the fab engine cover? Are the Oct engine covers the same as the Audi? etc etc. As at the start of this link, their needs to be a min order of 10, so if after things like door cards etc then 10 orders are needed. After warrenty he will be making stuff for mine so you can wait 3 years if wanted :)

i think the reason paul (monkeyboy) asked is that he needed to cut and shave the engine cover he bought to make it fit which would indicate that there are subtle changes in the covers from model to model and make to make. Also i would expect these parts to work out cheaper than the ones currently available.

i'd be interested in an engine cover, battery cover and the plastic bit by the inlet manifold that you mentioned matey. all price dependant obviously.
