Anybody had a re-map done in Scotland

Featured Replies

Hi.

Interested in a re-map now I've run in the vRS. Has anybody had the work carried out in Scotland. Jabba seems popular but it's quite a drive.

If you've had it done what were the results, are they similar to Jabbas 185bhp.

Thanks

Haven't Revo and the like got shops all over GB ?

Looked at Star performance but their site quotes 175bhp. Same as everybody else I'm looking for a little more.

Had mine done by Star. quoted output 180. Wheelspin in third!

I think I'd choose Star over Revo any day, from what I've heard...

Jim @ Star. Personally not had any work done by him, but he is the technical rep for APR over here aswell as doing his own tuning.

APR will give you a minimum of 207 for a vRS from 400 or so pounds for program only. A mis conception is you need cruisecontrol for the APR stuff. You don't, but if you do you can unlock it's "benefits".

Star's own tuning is great with some brilliant reviews for various marques. Worth a phone call at the very least or have a read in the star performance forum.

Most if not all chipping options result in about the same real world results; ou have to choose what you want, where you want it and why. I choose my APR for the flexibility, reviews on 1.8T's worldwide and location of tuner; the last being less than 3 miels meant it was far easier to tweak and begin the tuning relationship.

Hope that helps.

Doh just realised I'm in the fabia forum; forget the APR; use Jim's own solution or REVO or Jabba...

jabba have a dealer in scotland- Bedrock Veedubs in motherwell

not sure if the offer remaps yet, best to check with them, they have the rolling road installed not sure if the remap stuff is up and running, worth checking out

True.... but one of my friends had trouble with his REVO. Then again, plenty dont. I'd still choose Star however, than trust some chav back street garage to do anything to my likkle beast :P

Barry_VRS has a Fabia tuned by star... with coilovers, brembos, hybrid turbo, fmic... bout 240bhp

some chav back street garage

...and again.

...and again.

I and many other people I know have had lots of trouble with such said "chav" garages (not relating to remaps however, but still), many of which probably do Revo maps as well I would imagine. Not to be trusted at all IMHO. Of course if your local REVO dealer is reputable, then thats not a problem.
