The great Tudor ripoff

Featured Replies

I wondered where the Tudor went.

It was mentioned a while ago that VW may take it. Looks like they have. How many VW Owners will buy it once they realise it was designed by Skoda.

The Superb started life as Passat Plus.

And will be killed off by VW snobbery and small mindedness.

I heard rumours around the time that the Tudor was released as a concept that it may be released as a VW , but built in the Skoda plant (i take it the same plant that builds the Superb sedan) , much like they do with the VW Caddy pick up (which is a Felicia with a VW badge kit)

Had this discussion with a VW fan the other day who didn't believe me when I said it was a Skoda Felicia Pickup built at the old Vaciny plant, he said an owner of a Caddy told him they wished he could buy another it was an excellent vehicle.

I visited the factory when the VW Caddy's and Skoda pickup's could be seen on the same line no special treatment or differences until the final stage where a different grill was fixed. The VW caddy was more expensive had a shorter warrranty and no radio as standard if I remember correctly. I did here a rumour that the workers didnt give the Caddys as much TLC on the production line - but I am sure all the workers always acted professionally at all times:D

My dealer still has people coming in asking if they have any Felicia pick ups for sale , a shame they never made a Fabia version , i think they would sell! Do Skoda not build the Caddy any more?

Did they make them in any colour except egg-yolk yellow? (Not that I need one, you understand! :D )

No, as far as I am aware its not assembled at a Skoda Factory its a different vehicle now - new one looks a bit Seatish to me not being up in Vans cant comment further.

I remember the Felicia Fun pick up , which ONLY came in BRIGHT Yellow (and if im not mistaken it had green frogs printed on the seats!) Theres one up here that has a matching truckman top over the load bay and its always immaculate.

The yellow vehicle you are reffering to is the Skoda Fun Pickup it has a big following and its own owners club - The standard Skoda pickup came in a number of colours.

Ah - excusez moi. I thought it looked like a Felicia but I've only seen one or two. Certainly grab the attention!! :p
