Quick advice needed

Featured Replies

Please can you give me your thoughts.

Thismorning on the way to work, my wife was hit from behind, by a young lad. He failed to see her indicate or break, but she managed to get herself almost completely off the road as she saw he was not going to stop.

He ended up hitting her rear off side, but the dammage is little, there is a small scrape line that a touch up pen would fix.

Besides which, there is more dammage (worse) from before, Yes due to me hitting a wall

So the question is, if we go throught insurance, he is going to get screwed over, so do we do insurance, ask for some money, get a quote, or get him to get her some chockys!!!

If that really is all there was as a result I'd not bother with a claim *unless* he was acting like an idiot after the crash.

its the wife here. no the lad was nice, not an idiot. i was raging at first and shaking like a leaf but now looking at the (minimal) damage and calming down, it seems a bit unfair to screw this lad over.

We have canceled the claim, I know how hard it was to get insurance as a youngen! Think he may have learnt a lesson though.

He going to pop £30 as a good will gesture. Thanks for your thoughts, I just wanted to confirm.

Whats more it helps us all with our insurance premiums in the long run.

I agree

if thats all the damage there is then chocolate would not go a miss.

Make sure there is no hidden damage behind the bumper though

Good for you. It's reassuring to see that not everyone who gets hit from behind starts screaming "Whipcash! Whipcash!"

You have partly restored my faith in mankind...

Yeh good call, the less involvement with insurance companies the better.

Nice to see someone taking a moral stance these days, without wanting to fleece the other party for all they can get.

Seem to remember a thread on here a while ago when a Briskodian was on the other end of a huge claim against them for damage which had been on the car already.

Well done - I'm proud of you !
