In answer to your original question I would start with some subtle styling tweeks:

1. Remove side rubbing strips
   
2. Colour code grill
   
3. Silvervision Indicator Bulbs
   
4. 9N polo rear wiper mod
   
5. de badge tailgate
   
6. New/different wheels
   
7. Colour code wing mirrors & Bumper rub strips

Thanks for that. I do like some of the ideas i am also thinking of tinting the windows aswell. Think it would look nice (if i can pursuade someone to do it for me i.e. dad!) Will have a look in to getting the things and parts you mentioned though.

I'm not sure about the idea of tinting the windscreen or front side windows, because you've already got a subtle tint on them, and it wouldn't take much more before you get an illegally low level of transmittance.

My first mod would be sourcing a second hand VRS front bumper to sort out the front end, and adding a splitter (£20-30ish from Seat Dealer)

Then colour coding of grille/sidestrips etc.

Then VRS rear bumper and debadging.

Then think about lowering, and a set of larger alloys.

Then I would source some vrs seats to sort the interior out.

You would then have a very smart looking motor
