Does anyone know the max size of SD card that the Columbus will recognise. I've tried an 8gb but it doesn't seem to recognise it.

Also will it play wav. files from the SD or is it just mp3

Max size sd is 2gb.

I have a 16GB (yes 16) SDHC card in my Bolero system and it works fine !

Is the Columbus sytem more restrictive? Mine said 2 GB max originally but from other posts here I learned that 16GB would work - only gripe I have heard is speed of loading the track list if full

As far as I know, the Columbus maxes out at 2GB cards. Haven't tried this personally though (as I don't have any spare SDHC's lying around). If anyone is willing to send me freebies, I'm willing to try!

The Bolero is based on the v2 hardware of the VW RCD-510. This means it will read SDHC cards up to 32GB.

The Columbus and RNS-510 have yet to be updated with SDHC readers, so their maximum card capacity is 2GB.

I think they enabled SDHC in the Bolero to compensate for the lack of HDD.

I'm sure that the Columbus will be upgraded in the future, but it will probably need a new hardware version.
