Golf wheels?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a nice set of Golf gti (montreal 1?) wheels with 205's fitted for a price that was too good to miss.

Will these wheels fit on a fabia? If so, will Skoda centres fit?

They should do - assuming they're off a mk4 golf. The tyres will be the wrong size though.

They're 5x100? What offset?

as long as the pcd and offset are correct, they will. The golf mk4 has the same settings as the fabia. The tyres however are completely the wrong profile and will need to be replaced

I have no idea what the offset etc is, I have never seen this style on a Fabia before hence the question.

What tyre size/profile should be fitted for the Fabia?

What size are the wheels? Do you have them yet? PCD and offset will be stamped on the back somewhere

They are 16's, getting them at the weekend.

From a quick search it looks like the standard 16" tyres are 205 45 R16

These, according the site I linked above. (also, those flat mk2 golf gti wheels go by the same name)

ooh yeah, does bbs have a contract with vw/vag or something?

Those 19s are BBS Helios. Very nice but rare to find and 5x112. Optional on the Phaeton.

BBS make quite a few OEM wheels for manufacturers. VW have one of the longest standing relationships with them though. They've made quite a lot of BMW-branded wheels too.

Steve

thought i'd seen some BBS'esque alloys on some BMW's

Ones that spring to mind first are the BBS RS, fitted to E30 M3s

Quite a few later designs have been used by BMW as well though.

Just collected them, the lad was mad selling them so cheaply ... £100, unmarked but very dirty with 2 NEW Khumo tyres and 2 well worn Contis.

Tyres are 205/55 x 16, is that ok for a Fabia?

Look good with a set of Skoda centres too :)

Thought they'd be a 55 profile, as that's the standard for a Mk4 with 16s.

They will run, but your speedo will be under-estimating your speed, so not the best really! What I'd do is get some proper 205/45/16s ordered and sell the current tyres on. You should at least get some money back for the new Khumos, probably from someone with a Mk4 Golf!
