Superb on Fifth Gear

Featured Replies

The Superb (a nice white one) was on Fifth Gear tonight, they were testing whether the claimed combined economy figures bore any relation to real life - and they ended up quite close. Looked a nice car up against a Volvo and Smart Car though some muppets in the back were on about they would buy the Volvo - even though they had not been in it yet - because they don't like the Skoda badge.

Just as I thought Fifth Gear was about to turn into a useful car programme, it cut to Tiff Needel driving a ferarri that 99.9999% of viewers couldn't afford anyway. What a waste of air time.

Yep, that tw*rp in the back clearly didn't know what he was talking about. The Plato and athlete (whatever his name was) piece was quite funny. Where's VBH these days ?

Bring back Quentin Wilson I say!!!

The ferrari Item belonged on TG.

I was slightly miffed with the ignorant gays in the back of the Superb who would not have it cos it was a skoda ( which century they living in).

They probably have a ch*vd up corsa / saxo as thier own car and dont grasp the concept of economy run. ;) .

Was very surprised at the result & a major result for the Superb Greenline.

We all know Skoda still has a brand stigma , I personally didnt buy my car to impress people or to influence what they think about the brand, if everyone else knew how good they were they would be twice the price !!!

If Skoda marketing had owt about them, they'd use 1:35 - 1:45 of that video as an advert. Look at the state of them! People like that not liking it would certainly influence me to buy one. The Volvo C30 was created especially for people like them.

Interesting comment that.

I am a Director of a small company which has a C30 as one of the other Director's cars. We have just placed an order for a Fabia estate. When were were placing the order we both looked at the Superb and it's possible that we'd both go for one when it's time to change.

The C30 is a great little car if all you need is something small, economoical and a bit different.

In many ways Skoda and Volvo are very similar. They're both bought by people who don't want one of the average "run of the mill cars" and who appreciate a well built product.

Pete

Tiff minces even while driving.

OK perhaps I was a bit harsh on the C30, saying it was created especially for people like that. First part of my comment still stands though ('Look at the state of them! People like that not liking it would certainly influence me to buy one'). :)

i dont have a clue where v b h is these days......tbh i havent missed her at all....the presenters really should concentrate on advertising the standard motors that are available for the likes of us to watch, offering reasonable feedback before the likes of us make a purchase...to drive around in expensive sports cars out of our reach is nothing short of a pi** take if you ask me.

i wish they would crash a few and then hand the cars back to their owners and worm their way out of an explanation on their so called experienced driver training
