I've succumbed to temptation

Featured Replies

I finally caved in and bought myself a MacBook Pro.

I've always had a soft spot for Apple merchandise but thought it comparatively expensive compared to PC equipment.

I have to say first impressions are it's awesome and I wish I'd changed earlier. I cannot see any reason why MS can't include some of the many useful features included with Mac OS.

It's a big learning curve now, so much to take in and master.

good choice you won't regret it

Welcome to the clan Stu, Been on mine for over 2 years now. Still keep a Vista machine around for when I want a laugh. I'd suggest investing in Parallels for your VM's. If you decide to use boot camp for XP /Vista, you can still access those partitions as VM's from OSX if you need to get to 'em in a hurry.

The problem is, due to Microsofts market share, they end up with a law suit for every single thing they include in the OS, as its "anti competitive".

Give it 10 years, Microsoft will be a thing of the past. They wont be able to include anything with their OS because of "competition", and nobody will buy their OS, because it doesn't include anything. Catch 22 for them.

Apple are far worse than Microsoft for anti competitive behaviour, its just their small marketshare means they dont get as much hassle for it.
