Reverse gear

Might sound a bit daft this.

Does any one know whether the turbo on a vRS would operate whilst travelling backwards.

:revs:

Not really wanting to try it but would be good to know! :)

Yes it does, it is rev related.

 thanks - I'll be able to get on with some work now!

Try it out and do a J turn while you're at it! Great fun!

Be careful though, someone I know in a Vauxhall dealership 'round here decided to do a handbrake turn in his new demo Astra cabriolet at the weekend...lost it and hit a wall! Whole new rear 1/4 now required. Believe his boss is quite unhappy about it! Wonder if I'll ever see him again?

Good one.

I remeber being at a set of traffic lights and seeing a Golf GTI and an Escort Cosworth reving at the lights in the other direction.

When the lights changed the Golf sped off and the cossie hurtled backwards.

Bloke looked really glum but I had one of the biggest smiles ever :D

always worries me when i'm sat behind an auto and the reverse lights flash as the driver selects D... you know its not going to come back but that little flash always makes you think twice about it.
