Octavia Long delivery times

Featured Replies

Ordered my vRS on Tues 28th Sept

Last week dealer looked on the computamabob and said it was down for build in week 2 in 2010

Spoke to them today and build is now week 51, which still means a January delivery to me

hmm interesting. I ordered my just after you, I hop it comes before the end of the year coz I dont want to pay the extra 2.5% extra VAT. Though I guess it would be an agruement with dealer on this as it was agreed (albeit not in writing) that the extra VAT increase would not effect me.

Me thinks I should give my dealer a call tomorrow

  • Although dealers may indeed give differing stories as to build dates and arrival at dealer there is a mitigating reason for this. Two cars may be built on the same day and trained upto Emden together

Mine is now in the country - needs to be consigned etc, so probably will get it next week :thumbup::thumbup:

Where are you getting it from? Obviously not Autohaus :thumbdwn:

Ordered my white petrol VRS manual hatch with maxidot on 28th July. Had the dealer call today to see if I wanted to take out any of the finance deals currently on offer.........yes please' !

Car should be at the dealers next week all being well ready for me to collect during my half term week holiday (if I can wait until then).

Progress in Bedford. Bought my last one from them, and their service in my opinion has been the best I've ever had from a car dealership, so I never even considered Autohaus (when it was there!).

I ordered my 1.6 Tdi Elegance last week over the phone with a few extras, xenons, maxidot, front muds, spare wheel, my dealer quoted within 50 quid of DtD, I also asked about the Vat increase in Jan and said to the dealer that I wouldnt be in a position to order if I was to be hit by the rise.

Dealer said my order is price protected so the amount on the new order form is the price I will pay ( i hope so! ) he also said its upto 12 week wait, but two other dealers local to me said 8 weeks and 11 weeks ???

I paid my deposit and sent my paperwork back so they should have got it today, I await a call from them to tell me my build week.

A few questions, how long is it for the car to be built once on production line, how long from being built to being shipped, how long from arriving in country to being registered and ready......how long is a piece of string????

I was told its 6 weeks after the build week before you get your hands on it.

Snap!!!

Good to hear of your comments about good service

Finally had a test drive last week. They have just put on the road a new vRS CR170 demo

Have you been dealing with Peter or Andrew

Not had a confirmed build date yet, this seems to be the definitive date. Obviously would like my new car but not worried if it comes in Jan. Andrew told me that if cars come next year (Jan) Skoda will pay the extra 2.5% VAT. IMO They (SUK) are possibly worried of getting a load of cancelled orders if it gets into a conflict situation with customers

BTW I was not brave enough to have a white one so settled on red again:cool:

Nice to hear that, makes sense too....if I had not got the deal I have then Bedford was my next port of call

Been dealing with Andrew - Thought I'd go with something lary this time, will probably end up having to wash it all the time though...

Mine was at the port last Friday, and was told yesterday that it's in UK. So that was nice and quick - just hope it gets consigned and delivered as quickly - I'm itching to get into it now :D

My car is Build Week 41, and I have been told I should have it in Week 44.

Mine is on the way apparently according to Marlborough Skoda when I called them last Thursday so I'm expecting it next week or the week after. Glad to hear the opinions of Progress Bedford as my current VRS is being serviced by them on Friday, (always used Autohuas before as I'm in Northampton and was very happy with their service).

My car came from Marlborough. Current one failed everything on the PDI checklist after I got it, so I advise to check it before bringing back here! Our rear windows failed, wiper motor, transport blocks left in (found by Autohaus) and Xenons not set (resolved by Autohaus, which is how they found the blocks).

Shame, as first car from them was problem free.

Marlboro - that's worrying. I ordered mine through DtD and it's being sourced by Marlboro. I can't even get them to confirm it in writing yet though they have taken the deposit - now looks like them skimp the PDI :( And I was so looking forward my new vRS after all I've heard others on this forum have to say about it.

I personally would not use marlboro. I've used them a few times for simple things like part etc and have been fairly useless! Also the sales man was not overly interested in me and more his conversation with his work colleague. But that is just my personal experience.

Have to say when they had the Subaru dealership things were alot better.

Ordered a vRS in week 38 (CR 170, DSG, Hatch plus Xenons, bluetooth, and a couple of other bits).

Latest state of play is a week 48 build, but with up to 6 weeks from then until delivery (and Christmas is in the middle of all that). No better or worse than expected at the outset but the lingering 2.5% vat increase if it's not delivered by 31/Dec. :(

When I ordered on 28th Sept I was told I would have to pay the 2.5% extra VAT if car came in Jan

However last week they said Skoda would pay this if delivery went into next year

My car ordered 28-8-08 (wk 40?) and latest is a build date of week 51, (W/C 14-12-09?) but this might still come forward

Obviously SUK are anxious to get cars to customers this year

IMO they will be getting the factory to only build sold cars not ones for stock

This is the thing that worries me.I have paid the 500 deposit on my car but i aint really got anything in writing saying what i ordered and what options i requested.Should we have got something in writing or what? What happened to you guys when you placed your order?

You should have been given an order form completed with all the details of your order and part exchange etc. plus a formal receipt for your £500. If you didn't go back to the dealer and DEMAND that you be given one immediately. I cannot imagine a dealer being that unprofessional and it raises questions as to whether or not you have actually placed an order.

Get mad at them!

I've ordered via DtD and the dealer said I'm approved for the 0% however, I've not signed anything yet, only had a recept for deposit. Should I worry?

As long as you have a formal signed (by the seller) order form I wouldn't worry, I'm in the same position. They know that they may not sell the car if they can't provide the finance.

:+1:

I always got parts from Withams instead.

For the people with Dec/Jan expected dates that have P/exchanges, have the dealers guaranteed the px price now for 3mths ahead or are they adjusting them.

Thanks

I'm still waiting for a build / delivery date on mine. But since it's a 1.4 tsi and has the Bolero radio, I guess no point holding my breath. None of the other 'extras' are really demanding (mudflaps and a spare wheel!) so the build should be straightforward.

Had I known about all the supply problems I wouldn't have changed my mind. But when you're all excited, you want it like .. yesterday! Know what I mean? ;)

Not sure about the 1.4 but there's no Bolereo issues that I've heard of. I ordered early Sept, my build is next week. I had lots of extras, its a 2L petrol.

Cool. So long as I get my delivery in time to meet the scrappage requirements I guess I've no complaints. Hopefully I'll hear from the dealer about the dates within the next few days. Though I understand they're real busy at present. One of the nearby branches went into receivership and I guess they're taking on the work.

Have had my 1.4TSi DSG for 4 months now, it must have been one of the first to hit the UK.

You will not be disappointed, it's a terrific little engine and well worth the wait.
