Octavia Long delivery times

Featured Replies

I had a telephone call from my dealer today to say my 1.4TSI manual Elegance hatchback that was ordered on the 22nd of April will be ready for collection on the 11th September.

It seems that the 1.4TSI's are at long last coming through but there still won't be many around for a while.

  • Although dealers may indeed give differing stories as to build dates and arrival at dealer there is a mitigating reason for this. Two cars may be built on the same day and trained upto Emden together

I got an email today from my dealer saying that I couldn't change was order as it was with the factory now and can't be altered, I have emailed him back to check I'm still on week 44 as so many people have reported delays in this thread. I await a response.

that sounds like good news then..bad news you cannot change your order, but good news its going to hit the production line

Thats true perhaps the fact I got in just in time plus the VRS possibly being in a different factory has helped things.

Latest news build week 44, should arrive early November, lots better than February

hurrah..mines is in its build week now and dealer says expected pickup date will be before 31st october..he says he is being cautious about that as they cannot predict the exact length of time from factory to the uk so instead of giving me an early date then having to put me off he prefers to give a later date then if it turns up ealrier everybody is happy!

My 1.4TSI DSG Estate has been put on a ship already! I ordered it Week 29, so it could turn out to be 10-11 weeks all in. smile.gif

A car that was ordered in Week 27 has just arrived in the dealer in Week 37 - 10 weeks all in.

The dealer said that a car with a build week of 41 should be here by the end of October, so I would have thought that your car would be here well before then (I think that your dealer is playing safe, as you say not to raise expectations).

Hope you get it early.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I ordered my FL vRS on August 21st, build date in system as wk40/41.

When speaking to the dealership last week, they told me they had taken an order for an estate vRS with leather and this won't be ready until around February! So the only difference is that mine is the hatchback and doesn't have leather yet I should (hopefully) get it in October.

They also told me that because of the scrappage scheme and the 0% VAT so many people are now opting to buy new hence the delays.

I ordered mine first weekend in September, hoping to pick up on or around my birthday (7th) December.

Germany's "car scrappage" scheme has just expired, so this may speed up delivery times and the availability of certain engines to the UK e.g. 1.4TSI?

1.4 TSi is going to be yonks. They are now sorting out something to offer 1.8 units at a discount to anyone who will happily do so, IIRC.

I ordered my vRS about a week ago. I was told that if it does get delivered after 31st December, then Skoda UK would honour my agreed price (and finance deal), but I would have to pay the expected 2.5% rise in VAT (as it rises from 15-17.5% on January 1st). As mentioned above, the VAT-free deal is actually a cash-back deal with the dealers where Skoda UK pay most of it and the dealer pays the rest (hence little or no negotiation on price from the dealers).

.

I'd personally tell them that i've agreed a 'price to change' and thats the end of it. If you've signed anything then even better.

They may point out that the contract had VAT at a different rate and that now it's changed it isnt up to them, but the contract was agreed based upon VAT inclusive figures.

Next they'll be telling you that your p/x has devalued since you agreed the deal so they're going to have to charge you a bit more! :D

Just had my dealer on the phone.I ordered my VRS estate(no leather)on the 23rd august and he said this morning its build week 48 with delivery anytime between 14th-21st december.Thank god as i was beginning to get worried:)

I don 't think so. There are reports on Briskoda (e.g. on this thread from "Servo") of 1.4TSIs now starting to trickle through with delivery times of only 10-11 weeks. The 1.8 TSI engine has been offered as an alternative for some months now, albeit a significantly more expensive one (despite the additional discount).

I've just had this quote with a delivery forecast of late Oct/Nav:

New 59 Plate Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI CR vRS 5 door in Metallic Race Blue with Maxidot, Rear Park Sensors, Auto dimming rear view mirror, rain sensors and light assist & Spare Wheel £16695 on the road, including VAT, 12 months road tax and delivery to your door.

Still can't decide between this and a Mazda6 2.2D sport (or wait till next year and buy a demo)

I own a Mazda 6 Sport (55), really like it and wanted to stick with the Maz, but after testing the new shape, it felt big, rep like and sort of older inside than mine! The Skoda felt sharper, more modern and sort of more contrasting use of interior. The Maz was bland, the dials not as easy to see and the rear view mirror pokes out at you and silly handbrake. Also the buttons on the wheel get pushed by my palms......etc...

Maz6 is still cool but Skoda for me seems to "fit" with what I'm happy with. Test the Maz and then go for the skoda test again and I bet your settle on one.

How long do you wait before getting the build week?

How long do you wait before getting the build week?

I got mine within a few days

My order was processed a week ago, so maybe I'll wait till mid week before chasing?

Ordered a White VRS petrol hatch on 25th July. Was told it would be mid to late September delivery.

Having not heard a peep from the dealer I decided to call them.

Now stating approx delivery for end of October.

Sounds like Build Week 40/41. They are happy to take your money, but then do not keep you up to date :thumbdwn:

Yeah - having posted that i then saw that the skoda communication i'd taken that from was dated June!!!!

Hi all

I ordered my 1.4 TSI manual on 20th June. I have just had en email from the dealer to say that it was released from the factory on 1st September and should be with me within three weeks of then - so it should be mine in only a few days.

It does appear as though some of the 1.4TSIs are now starting to trickle through.

I ordered my Octavia on the 17th June 09, and it's just arrived at the dealers today. I thought a 3 month wait was bad but February.......

Why do think I chose not to have another VW Golf!

1. Long Wait

2. Overpriced.

my dealer rang ten past seven tonight (long day!)

says car is built and waiting for shipping at port...I should actually have it before the end of this month which is about 4 weeks earlier than I expected ( I ordered 4th august)
