  • Although dealers may indeed give differing stories as to build dates and arrival at dealer there is a mitigating reason for this. Two cars may be built on the same day and trained upto Emden together

Hope everything goes OK and you are pleased with it

PS Watch the average speed cameras between Brafield and Turvey if you go down the A428

Think I'll be coming back cross-country and up through Newport Pagnell anyway - but as I'll be carefully running it in then I shouldn't be giving it too much welly......not yet anyway :-)

Might even put up some pics soon - I know I've been desperately trying to find some decent pics of a white one for ages...

What spec are you getting and petrol or diesel?

*queue music*

TSI, Anthracite with Onyx Alcantara Interior.

Especially for you....

Nice !!!!

Just spoken to the dealer and mine is build week 45 (ordered 6th Sept). Asked him about XDS and he'd never heard of it... lol.

Mind you, it's probably only the vRS that gets XDS, but here's hoping my L&K may get it,

very nice indeed.......looks nice in anthracite

Diesel.

And I now have it! Just drove home in it and I've got to say that although the changes are subtle, they really make it a much nicer car - the interior feels a lot more refined, although would have liked all of the green lights to be changed to white, but that's just a minor gripe. Bolero stereo is a huge improvement! I would rather not listen to the one in my last vRS, it was too harsh on the ears, whereas this sounds so much better.

It looks the absolute business in Candy White! (will try to get some pics uploaded tomorrow) and am so glad I chose it. The CR diesel is a pleasure to drive, much quieter, and much smoother.

And best of all, it has that new car smell. :)

So having only driven about 25 miles so far, I am loving it.

Looks great in anthracite. I wanted anthracite, but SWMBO wanted Cappuccino beige so that's what we are getting. I'm so jealous - can't wait for mine

Just 4 hours to go........:orb_cool_

Did you buy from Progress, or they've mopped up the Autohaus orders?

I ordered from Progress - I bought my last one from them and as I said earlier in this thread, I couldn't fault their service so it was a no-brainer for me. I never really liked dealing with Autohaus.

I think they've got the Autohaus orders too, but then I suppose it's the closest dealership seeing as Milton Keynes dealership is no longer there either.

Did you buy from Progress, or they've mopped up the Autohaus orders?

No, I bought directly from Progress even though I only live about 2 miles from Autohaus in Northampton

On Tues 22-9-09 I had talked to Autohaus but the cost to change they wanted was £2250 more expensive than Progress  They went bust on the Friday :(

Ordered my Race Blue CR VRS (DSG) on 30th September and spoke to the dealer today and he reckons the build date is last week of November so if I'm really lucky I'll get it just before Christmas... After the year I've had, that could be a nice Crimbo pressie :-)

After reading and looking at the pics.....I want mine now....I really dont want to have to buy a front tyre on my current car. Build week 46 cant come soon enough.

I orderd Octavia Combi elegance plud 2.0 PD140 2 weeks ago. Build date is week 46. Interesting thing for all of you waiting for your car migth be that I live in Croatia, and looking through your posts I noticed we here have shorter delivery time......:)

I've just heard that my 1.4 TSI ordered on 5 Sept (week 37) is due to be built this week (43) or next (44). :D I've been advised to allow three weeks for it to get here, be consigned/registered whatever, so looking at mid-Nov then I get to play with it!

Octy 1.4 tsi SE. Dynamic blue, spare wheel.

Another update! My car was built on Tuesday (20/10/9) and is on it's way to the port. I'm told to expect another two weeks or so for it to get to the UK, be consigned and delivered to the dealer (Progress, Bedford).

I guess the moral is not to get too caught up in horror stories about 6+ month waits (though quite possibly early on when the German and UK scrappage schemes were going and the 1.4 tsi engine was fairly new to the Skoda range this might have been true) and have more confidence in what the dealer says.

So now I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the car to be ready on the weekend of 7/8 Nov. It's my weekend off work and if it is ready then I suspect my wife and daughter will see very little of me beyond a blue blur as I head off to have fun. *Ahem*. I meant .. to give the car a proper evaluation. Yes, that's it! I'm not having fun. I'm evaluating!

It looks like my car was on the same line as yours as mine was built that week as well. The last I heard, it was waiting at the ferry port for a ticket to Blighty. I'm hoping for next week or the one after. I've ordered a 1.6D Elegance with a few extras. Can't wait, even though my current Octy is more powerful and better spec'd. It's nice to have a new car - can't beat it.

That's where mine is.

My TSI vRS estate (built 19th October) is there too, waiting for a boat to Sheerness. One thing my dealer mentioned though, is that between 13th and 19th October there will be NO movement of Skodas anywhere due to a new stock tracking system being introduced (?!). I have no reason to doubt him as he sems quite well informed.

So, even if our cars are in this country (at Sheerness) during that week, they won't be going anywhere! That would be especially frustrating for me as the port is about a 20 min drive away :(

With any luck though they'll be through the port and at the dealers by the 13th.

Bit different to info from my dealer in that he reckons it's waiting for a ship bound for Grimsby (an hour away for our village). Could be different ports depending on where in the UK the vehicle is destined for I supose.

I take it you mean November?

Yes, it's November. My dealer told me the same. He seems to think there'll be no problem getting my car for the first week of November - I had to rush through the order back at the end of August with this in mind. My car's been at the port for over a week now, so it's unlikely to take another 2 weeks to get to the dealer. My dealer is in Bath, so a bit further to travel than some.

The only problem I have is I have to go through a finance company due to company rules and I have to make sure they'll pay up in good time - hopefully, the dealer will be able to get the invoice faxed over before the car actually shows up as in stock, but that's another issue that I shouldn't be boring everyone with on here.

H there I ordered an Octavia vrs five weeks ago and was told it was going to be built on the last week of October. When I phoned last week to see how things were going I was told there was a problem with the radios and the build date has been put back a week. If I cant get a delivery in November I'm going to cancel the order. When I ordered the car the dealer told me I would have the car in Oct or Nov if the car dont show I'll be looking for my deposite back. They shouldnt promise what they cant keep !!!!!

If i had to guess I would say you will be asking for your deposit back.

I ordered mine sep 1st and am expecting it end of nov start of dec.

As far as I know the radio is the same model as the one installed in my SE last Tuesday and there wasn't a delay for that. Having said that, build dates do occasionally vary and seem to be a bit different depending on which model's been ordered.

But from what I've read here it sounds like you'll be happy with the VRS. Seems a shame to cancel the order over something like that. Of course, if you have anything in writing about the delivery you could use it to haggle some extras maybe? ;)
