Tyres for under

Featured Replies

Sorry to be lazy guys as I am sure this has been put up before. However my front Contis are knackered and I can't really stretch to £125 a corner. I heard Hankook are good but anyone got any other recommendations??

Cheers:thumbup:

Toyo T1R seem to be highly rated.

ring around your local independents, they are usually competitive with internet pricing

I put Pirelli zero nero's on a few weeks back. Had Toyo's, Kumo's and rainsports before. I pretty pleased with Pirelli's. ANd they were £75 a corner vs £100 for Toyo's

T1R's can be had for around the £60 each mark plus fitting.

Well that's what i paid online for them a few months ago.

Cheers

Dave.

Toyos T1R's will cost £80 all in for each corner. Plenty of choice under £100 though.

I've just ordered 4 Kumho KU31 Sports. I wanted Hankook V12 Evos but Camskill were all out and everywhere else was too expensive :(

The 4 cost £316 including fitting, balancing etc from Event Tyres. Pretty good I thought and they're coming to me on Saturday :D

Pirelli zero nero's or if you can afford it michelin exalto pe2's.

I paid £80 each for 4 Uniroyal Rainsports 2 205/45ZR16 tyres fitted and balanced.

295 corrected to 205.

Are you sure you typed that correctly, do you mean 205/45, unless you have very wide wheels.

:banghead: Not another thread about tyres! I agree with a previous thread, we should have a sticky about vRS tyres, what to get, how much and where.

To answer the OPs question, I can get T1-Rs, Goodyear GSD3s, Khumos each for under £100. Its just OEM (Michelin or Bridgestones, Contis) that much more.

I have Hanook V12's on my 17's and they seem to be ok at the moment. nice grip in the wet and a few quid cheaper than the TR1's.

Try camskill for the prices.

Uniroyal Rainsport 2's, great tyre in all conditions.

Try http://tyretraders.co.uk/. I've just done a search for 205/45/16 - there's a choice of thrity different tyres and every single one is less than £100 fitted.

To pay over £80 for tyres is absolute madness!

I had avon zz-1s,best gripping tyre ive ever had,£70 a corner, but only lasted a few thousand miles.Currently have hankooks on,much less grip but totally competent for a fabia, and much better wearing!

Easy decision, Toyo Proxy T1Rs - IMHO excellent tyre, just had a set on for my recent Ring trip and they were outstanding far better than my Eagle F1s I ran last year. Felt like they had more grip and gave far more indication to them 'breaking away'. I ordered them from Camskill for around £65.00 a corner

I put 2 toyo T1Rs on the back of mine last time, will do the fronts in the same when it comes round. Got them for £65 each including VAT, fitting and balancing. No competition!

I had Avon ZZ3's... they last 6,000 miles

Tyres are subjective and they nearly always come down to personal preference. I have found T1r's to be excellent allrounders. The F1's are good too but I don't like them in the cold.

I am currently using Falken 912's which have been brilliant in all conditions. They are currently on 24k and probably have another 6k in them. They were £62 a corner fitted

Running Hancocks at the mo at £50 a corner fitted and no issues, can't rememeber what they are but I can find out if you need to know

Toyo's all the way :D

I have 2 px4's on the front at the minute and there excellent, the rear tyres are gradually wearing so I can get some on there aswell :D

All tyre places round me charge different prices so I get mine even cheaper online

I am having 4 Uniroyal Rainsport 2's fitted on Friday for £72.49 each, in Coventry, which is of little help to you in Kent I guess?

Rainsports are awesome :D

Great forum, can anyone recommend the quietest tyre out of the bunch mentioned??

I got my conti's from Kwik Fit when they had the 25% off 4 came to £380 i think.

My last set of contis covered 45k

I have the Pirelli P-Zero Nero. They are really good, quiet, long lasting, grippy and about £70 a corner from my local tyre man. Support your local businesses!
